Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Approaching rehab assignment
Reds manager David Bell said Sunday that India (foot) could begin a rehab assignment within the next week, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
India, who has been on the 10-day injured list since July 30 with left foot plantar fasciitis, began a running progression Monday at the Reds' complex in Arizona and looks to be making good progress in his recovery. Bell suggested that India would likely need at least three rehab games before being activated from the IL, so the 26-year-old probably won't be ready to return to the Cincinnati lineup until early next week at the soonest.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Back in action Sunday
Torres (back) will start at second base and bat cleanup in Sunday's game against the Astros.
Torres had missed the previous two games with lower-back tightness, but the Yankees gave him the green light to return to the lineup for the series finale after he completed a pregame workout without issue. Before sitting out Friday and Saturday, Torres closed August with a .355/.444/.839 slash line to go with four home runs and a stolen base over his final eight games of the month.

Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Sitting again Sunday

Astros' Jose Altuve: Back in action Sunday
Altuve (leg) is starting at second base and batting leadoff Sunday against the Yankees, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Altuve sat out Saturday after leaving Friday's contest with a bruised leg from a hit-by-pitch, but his absence will be limited to one game. The veteran second baseman has been on a tear since the start of August and has a .351/.426/.518 slash line with eight doubles, three homers, six steals, 14 RBI and 27 runs in 28 contests.

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Not in Sunday's lineup

Blue Jays' Santiago Espinal: Hits bench Sunday
Espinal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Espinal went 6-for-10 with a double and four RBI while starting in three of the past four games at third base, but he'll head to the bench Sunday while Cavan Biggio logs a start at the hot corner. The Blue Jays should have extra playing time available for Espinal on the left side of the infield while both Matt Chapman (finger) and Bo Bichette (quadricep) are on the injured list.

Pirates' Liover Peguero: Running hot at plate
Peguero went 2-for-5 with a pair of base hits in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Cardinals.
Peguero turned in his third multi-hit effort in four games and appears to have bounced back nicely from a recent three-game stretch in which he went 0-for-9 with a walk and six strikeouts. He'll stick in the starting nine for Sunday's series finale, manning shortstop and batting sixth.

Red Sox's Luis Urias: Sits in second straight
Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Urias is on the bench for a second straight game and looks as though he may not be handed an everyday role at the keystone while the Red Sox await Pablo Reyes' (elbow) return from the 10-day injured list. Enmanuel Valdez will pick up another start at second base after going 1-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 9-5 win.
