Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Out with hamstring cramp
Albies (hamstring) is absent from the lineup Monday versus the Yankees.
Albies was pulled from Sunday's series finale against the Mets due to cramping in his left hamstring. It's not a serious concern, but he'll grab some rest and treatment as the NL East leaders open a three-game set against the Yankees on Monday night in Atlanta. Nicky Lopez is playing second base and batting ninth.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Three hits in Sunday's win
McNeil went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over Atlanta.
The 31-year-old has had a difficult season -- one of many on the Mets -- but McNeil appears to be regaining the form that led him to a batting title in 2022. He's slashing .314/.375/.451 so far in August with a double, two homers, five RBI and nine runs through 13 games, numbers right in line with his performance last year.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Nationals' Michael Chavis: Two hits in Sunday's start
Chavis went 2-for-4 in Sunday's win over the A's.
Getting the start at second base and batting eighth, Chavis put together his first multi-hit performance since May 28. The 28-year-old has seen a slight uptick in playing time following Luis Garcia's demotion, appearing in four games so far in August and going 4-for-12 with a walk and a run, but Chavis now sits behind jake Alu on the depth chart and isn't likely to move into a starting role down the stretch.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Logs three-hit effort
Estrada went 3-for-5 with a double in Sunday's extra-inning win over the Rangers.
Estrada led the way for the Giants with three hits but was left stranded each time. He now has five hits over his last two games and three multi-hit efforts in eight games since returning from a fractured left hand. The 27-year-old has primarily been hitting from the two or three spot in the lineup since returning to action and is now slashing .279/.333/.479 with 30 extra-base hits, 34 RBI, 47 runs, 18 steals and a 17:88 BB:K in 352 plate appearances.

Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Big day at plate
Gimenez went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and one steal in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Rays.
Gimenez did it all for the Guardians, displaying his power with a first-inning home run, then showing off the speed with two infield singles and a stolen base. It was the third straight multi-hit effort for Gimenez, who is finally starting to heat up at the dish. Thus far in August, Gimenez is hitting .349 with two home runs, five doubles and three steals in 12 games.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Marlins' Luis Arraez: Drives in three
Arraez went 3-for-5 with one triple, three RBI and one run scored in Sunday's victory over the Yankees.
Arraez' ninth-inning triple pulled the Marlins even after starting the frame down four. Arraez had been slumping in August, hitting .222 in 45 at-bats prior to Sunday's performance. While his flirtation with .400 is now a distant memory, Arraez maintains a league-leading .367 batting average. He's also on pace to be the first player to record more than 200 hits in a season since Whit Merrifield and Rafael Devers each accomplished the feat in 2019.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Swipes three bags
Torres went 0-for-3 with one run scored and three steals in Sunday's loss to the Marlins.
Torres saw his 11-game hitting streak come to an end, but managing three stolen bases in an 0-for-3 performance is an impressive and rare feat. Torres stole two bags following a fielder's choice in the fifth, then a third bag following a walk in the seventh. He is up to 12 steals on the year, which is two shy of a career-high 14 set in 2021.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Exits with cramping in hamstring
Albies was removed from Sunday's game against the Mets as a precautionary measure due to cramping in his left hamstring.
Albies appeared to be running slower than usual to first base on a groundout in the top of the eighth inning, and he was replaced defensively in the bottom of the frame. He went 0-for-3 with a walk prior to his departure and should be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's series opener against the Yankees.
-
Whit Merrifield 2B | ATL
Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: Four hits in win
Merrifield went 4-for-6 with one double, one RBI, two runs scored and one steal in Sunday's win over the Cubs.
Merrifield has now hit safely in six straight contests, with three multi-hit games and a .429 average over that stretch. 2023 has been a resurgent year for the 34-year-old, whose .302 average is his highest since 2019 as a member of the Royals. Merrifield has added 11 home runs, 55 RBI, 53 runs, and 21 stolen bases on the season and is a mainstay at the top of a potent Blue Jays lineup.

Alan Trejo SS | COL
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Goes deep in loss
Trejo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Trejo's fourth-inning blast tied the game at 3-3, but the Rockies' offense stalled out from there. The infielder has gone 4-for-15 over his last seven games while playing in a limited role. He snapped a homer drought of 15 contests dating back to July 16. Trejo hasn't exactly impressed with a .248/.287/.357 slash line, two homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs scored and four stolen bases over 168 plate appearances, but he could push for some playing time at second base with Brendan Rodgers struggling.
