  • Blue Jays' Santiago Espinal: May not require injured list

    Espinal, who is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles with a hamstring injury, said he shouldn't need a trip to the injured list, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

    The 28-year-old exited Saturday's contest with a right hamstring issue, but it doesn't appear to be a serious injury. Even if available, Espinal isn't guaranteed to rejoin the starting nine within the next couple days since Toronto's position players are otherwise healthy.

    Drury will get a breather after he went 2-for-7 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored over the first two games of the series. Luis Rengifo will take over at second base and bat seventh in the series finale with Minnesota.

    Estrada went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 1-0 loss to the Marlins.

    Estrada's first-inning single was one of just three hits for the Giants in the contest. He stole second but was left stranded. The 27-year-old took a turn at leadoff with LaMonte Wade on the bench versus a lefty (Braxton Garrett) Saturday. Estrada is 8-for-25 (.320) during his six-game hitting streak, and he's maintained a .310/.358/.477 slash line with 12 steals, six home runs, 16 RBI and 28 runs scored through 43 contests overall.

    Frazier went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Blue Jays.

    This was Frazier's first multi-hit effort since May 4. He's been solid this month, batting .283 with two home runs, eight RBI, nine runs scored and two stolen bases across 17 contests. The second baseman is slashing .244/.333/.407 through 155 plate appearances this season.

    Stott is not in the starting lineup against the Cubs on Sunday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

    Stott drove in a pair of runs while hitting at the top of the lineup in Saturday's rout of the Cubs, but he'll open Sunday's finale against Chicago on the bench. Josh Harrison is starting at second base with Stott out and hitting eighth.
