Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Twins' Jorge Polanco: Sent for MRI on hamstring
Polanco is undergoing an MRI on his left hamstring Friday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Pressreports.
Polanco is absent from the Twins' starting lineup for Friday night's series opener in Toronto after tweaking his hamstring in Thursday's series finale versus the Rays. He's considered day-to-day for now but could require another IL stint if the MRI shows anything at all concerning. The 29-year-old middle infielder has been limited to 30 games (127 plate appearances) this season.

Owen Miller 2B | CHC
Brewers' Owen Miller: In leadoff spot Friday
Miller is playing first base and batting leadoff Friday versus the Athletics.
The 26-year-old's defensive versatility should serve the Brewers well in this one with the A's planning to deploy a bullpen day beginning with opener Sam Moll. Miller has posted an impressive .308/.343/.449 slash line with four home runs and eight stolen bases through 48 games this season while appearing at first base, second base, third base and both corner outfield spots.

Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Recalled from Triple-A
Guillorme was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
Guillorme is taking the roster spot of Pete Alonso (wrist) and will provide depth at all four infield spots. He's managed just a .590 OPS at the big-league level in 2023.

Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL
Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Starting in left field
Dubon is starting in left field and batting leadoff Friday in Cleveland.
It's just the second start in left field for Dubon this season, but he could receive a boost in playing time in the outfield while Yordan Alvarez (oblique) is on the shelf. The fact that Dubon is hitting leadoff while Jose Altuve is in the No. 2 spot for the first game without Alvarez is also notable.

Enmanuel Valdez 2B | PIT
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Sent to Triple-A
Valdez was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Valdez had some promising moments during his several-week run with the Red Sox, but he ultimately holds a .234 batting average and .280 on-base percentage through his first 101 major-league plate appearances. The 24-year-old infielder will head back to Worcester for a bit more minor-league seasoning.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Orioles' Adam Frazier: Out against lefty
Frazier isn't starting Friday against the Royals, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
Southpaw Daniel Lynch will start the game for Kansas City, so the left-handed bat of Frazier will begin Friday in the dugout. Ramon Urias will fill in at the keystone while Frazier sits and bat fifth.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Sitting Friday
Torres is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Red Sox.
Torres will take a seat after he went 1-for-12 with a two-run homer over the three-game series with the White Sox. DJ LeMahieu will take over at second base while Josh Donaldson enters the lineup at third base and bats second in the series opener with Boston.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Twins' Jorge Polanco: Absent Friday
Polanco (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Blue Jays.
Polanco pulled his left hamstring Thursday versus the Rays and he will head to the bench while nursing the injury. The 29-year-old returned from the 10-day injured list June 1 after a separate hamstring injury, so the team will likely be cautious with his return from this latest setback. Kyle Farmer will draw the start at second base and bat fifth in the series opener with Toronto.

Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Expected to be recalled
Guillorme is headed to Pittsburgh to join the Mets and is expected to be recalled prior to Friday's game, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Guillorme looks to be the corresponding roster move for Pete Alonso (wrist), who is headed to the injured list. The utility infielder has posted just a .590 OPS this season but will offer the Mets a quality glove at multiple spots as they scramble to account for the loss of Alonso.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Belts walk-off homer
Albies went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk in Thursday's 13-10 extra-inning win over the Mets.
Coming into Albies' final at-bat, he was the only one of Atlanta's starters without a hit in the contest. The second baseman wiped away that narrative with a three-run shot off Tommy Hunter to send his team home with a win. Albies has gone deep three times in his past four games, batting .412 (7-for-17) with six RBI, five runs and a stolen base over that span.
