Segura's hamstring injury is considered day-to-day, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports.

This isn't too much of a deviation from the initial reports, but the official word is that Segura's injury is "very mild." The 27-year-old is hitting .333 with three stolen bases through the first week of the season. Taylor Motter will likely assume Segura's role while he is on the mend.

Segura was pulled from Monday's game after straining his right hamstring, Shannon Drayer of MyNorthwest.com reports.

Segura was forced to exit the game after he injured himself diving back to first base in an attempt to avoid a double play. He will be reevaluated Tuesday to see whether a move to the disabled list is warranted, but for now, the Mariners are hoping he will only be day-to-day. With Shawn O'Malley on the DL, Taylor Motter appears to be the likely replacement for Segura if he should miss extended time.

Moustakas' sixth-inning blast was his third through the team's first six games this year. Unfortunately for the third baseman, all three of his homers have been solo shots. Owners can't really complain, though, considering he's off to a blazing start. Moustakas is 8-for-23 (.348) while hitting safely in every game so far, including Saturday's contest in which he singled in his only at-bat as a pinch hitter.

Donaldson received treatment on his calf Sunday and is optimistic that he'll be able to return Tuesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.

Donaldson tweaked his calf during Sunday's game against the Rays and was forced to leave early, but his condition seems to be headed in the right direction. In addition to saying that his injury is fairly minor, Donaldson will be aided by Toronto having Monday off, giving him an extra day to recover.

Chapman (wrist) was placed on the 7-day disabled list Sunday, MiLB.com reports.

The power-hitting third baseman hurt his left wrist while checking his swing during a game with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, and it was quickly determined that he'd need some extended time off to recover from the injury. Unless Chapman's wrist issue proves to be more of a multi-month setback than a multi-week one, his development shouldn't be too stunted.

Donaldson left Sunday's game after injuring his calf running to first, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.

After hitting an infield grounder, Donaldson was hustling to first in an effort to outrun the throw when he appeared to tweak his calf. He was promptly pulled from the game and replaced at the hot corner by Ryan Goins. Prior to his early exit, Donaldson had gone 1-for-3 at the plate with a home run. Further information regarding the severity of his ailment should be available in the near future.

Plouffe (illness) will start at third base and bat sixth in the order Sunday against the Rangers.

Plouffe was held out for the first time this season Saturday after coming down with the illness, but the Athletics were never worried about the third baseman missing extended time. The day off might actually prove beneficial to Plouffe, who was stuck in a rut at the dish prior to sitting out Saturday. He's collected three hits in 19 at-bats this season and has struck out six times.
