Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Exiting starting nine Wednesday
Sosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
Sosa had batted first or second in each of the past three games, but he failed to provide a spark near the top of the lineup, going 1-for-12 at the plate. Though the White Sox probably aren't ready to pull the plug on Sosa as a near-everyday player just yet, the 24-year-old will head to the bench in the series finale nonetheless.

Oswaldo Cabrera LF | NYY
Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Making second straight start
Cabrera will start at third base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
With Jazz Chisholm (elbow) hitting the injured list Wednesday, Cabrera will man the hot corner for the second game in a row and it looks like he'll get the first chance to claim the open spot in the Yankees' everyday lineup. Cabrera enters Wednesday's contest with a four-game hitting streak, but he's supplied a modest .245/.292/.375 slash line with eight home runs and three stolen bases across 275 plate appearances on the season. Along with Cabrera, DJ LeMahieu and Oswald Peraza could get looks at third base while Chisholm is out indefinitely.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Summoned to majors
The Yankees recalled Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.
Peraza will join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Jazz Chisholm (elbow), who was placed on the injured list. The 24-year-old Peraza has slashed .244/.351/.382 with eight home runs and 17 steals across 65 contests with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. He may see some starts at third base while Chisholm is out, but Peraza could struggle to see consistent playing time.

Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Officially placed on injured list
The Yankees placed Chisholm on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left elbow sprain.
He was injured during Monday's game against the White Sox on a slide into home plate. A decision on whether Chisholm will be able to rest and rehab the injury or require season-ending surgery has yet to be made, but even in a best-case scenario, he's going to miss multiple weeks of action. In the meantime, Oswaldo Cabrera is likely to see the bulk of the starts at third base for the Yankees, with DJ LeMahieu and Oswald Peraza also in the mix for playing time at the position.

Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH
Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Starting at hot corner again
Hernaiz will start at third base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Mets, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Hernaiz is emerging as Athletics manager Mark Kotsay's preferred choice at the hot corner, having started at the position four times in a five-game span. The 23-year-old has posted a poor .561 OPS in August since being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Aug. 4, although that's better than what Abraham Toro (.345 OPS) has provided so far this month.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Athletics' Abraham Toro: Losing at-bats to Hernaiz
Toro is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Mets, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
For the fourth time in five games, Darell Hernaiz has drawn the start at third base over Toro, though Toro picked up a start at first base during that stretch. Since coming off the injured list last month, Toro is slashing just .151/.224/.189 over 16 games.

Ramon Urias 2B | HOU
Orioles' Ramon Urias: Out of lineup Wednesday
Urias is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Nationals, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Rookie Coby Mayo will garner the start at third base instead of Urias, who had manned the hot corner for the first game of the series Tuesday, picking up a single in one of his four plate appearances.

Armando Alvarez 3B | MIN
Athletics' Armando Alvarez: Makes return to big club
The Athletics recalled Alvarez from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Oakland optioned Alvarez to Triple-A on Saturday, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club four days later since the Athletics placed Brent Rooker (personal) on the paternity list in a corresponding move. Rooker is expected to miss between one and three games while he's on the paternity list, and once he returns, Alvarez will likely head back to the minors.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Expected to receive promotion
The Yankees are expected to recall Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take the roster spot of the injured Jazz Chisholm (elbow), Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
There's still no word yet on the seriousness of Chisholm's left UCL injury, but a trip to the 10-day injured list is a foregone conclusion. Peraza is the logical choice to replace him on the roster and could see some action at third base in Chisholm's stead, although Oswaldo Cabrera and/or DJ LeMahieu figure to be given first dibs. The 24-year-old Peraza has yet to play an inning for the Yankees this season, having slashed .244/.351/.382 with eight homers and 17 steals across 65 contests with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
