  • Nick Maton DH | CHW

Tigers' Nick Maton: Hits three-run home run Monday

Maton went 1-for-2 with a walk and a three-run home run in Monday's loss to the Phillies.

Detroit fell 8-3, but it was a good homecoming for Maton, who blasted his sixth home run of the season in the seventh inning to break up Aaron Nola's no-hit bid. Maton played for the Phillies the last two seasons before joining the Tigers in the offseason as part of the Gregory Soto trade. Outside of the bright spot Monday, it's been a rough year for the utility player, as he's batting just .167.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Playing time trending up

Paredes will start at first base and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Paredes had begun to lose reps at third base to Taylor Walls at the end of May, but the Rays should have near-everyday roles in the infield available for both players for the foreseeable future after Brandon Lowe (back) was moved to the 10-day injured list Monday. While Lowe is on the shelf, Walls will likely take over as the Rays' primary second baseman, though the newly recalled Vidal Brujan will get the nod at the keystone Monday. Paredes, meanwhile, will slide across the diamond while primary first baseman Yandy Diaz gets a day out of the field to serve as the Rays' designated hitter.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Swipes sixth bag

Peterson went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a steal in Sunday's loss against the Marlins.

Peterson's now 6-for-7 on stolen base attempts this season. The veteran infielder hasn't offered much at the plate, however, going 4-for-32 (.125) in his last 11 games. Though he's still serving as Oakland's primary third baseman, Peterson is slashing just .197/.294/.280 with three homers, 15 runs scored and 13 RBI through 180 plate appearances this season.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Hits first MLB home run

Garcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Rockies.

Garcia kicked off the bottom of the eighth with a solo blast to left off Kyle Freeland, which subsequently ended Freeland's night on the hill. The 23-year-old had eight extra base hits coming into Sunday, but none had gone for home runs. Garcia was sharp over the final two weeks of May, slashing .333/.409/.462 and has two RBI over his first two starts of June thus far.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Gets aboard four times

Jung went 3-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 12-3 win over the Mariners.

After opening the series 0-for-7 in the first two games -- which snapped his 14-game hitting streak -- Jung got back on track with a solid showing Sunday. The third baseman has multiple hits in eight of his last 17 contests. He's up to a .294/.343/.518 slash line with 12 home runs, 38 RBI, 42 runs scored, one stolen base, 11 doubles and a triple through 55 games overall. The 25-year-old has a near-everyday role in a strong offense, putting him on track to continue his breakout campaign.

  • Jake Burger 3B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Smashes walk-off grand slam

Burger went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a walk in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Tigers.

Burger came up clutch with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning. This was his second homer in his last four games, but he's seen his playing time drop off lately after holding a steady role in mid-May. The 27-year-old has hit just .209 (9-for-43) over his last 14 contests. For the season, he's at a respectable .265/.317/.606 slash line with 12 homers, 29 RBI, 22 runs scored and a stolen base through 145 plate appearances. With Yoan Moncada firmly in place as the starting third baseman, Burger's best bet for playing time remains at designated hitter.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Out of Sunday's lineup

Donaldson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Donaldson started the past two games after being activated from the injured list Thursday, and he'll take a seat Sunday after he went 2-for-8 with two home runs and three RBI. DJ LeMahieu will start at third base while Giancarlo Stanton serves as the designated hitter.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Avoids serious injury

Lewis appears to have avoided a concussion but sustained a laceration to his forehead after being involved in a collision in Sunday's game against Guardians, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old is also dealing with some general soreness after he ran into the Guardians' Gabriel Arias at first base late in Sunday's contest. Lewis looks like he'll avoid a trip to the injured list, and he'll have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery before the Twins return to action Tuesday at Tampa Bay.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Leaves after collision

Lewis was removed from Sunday's game against the Guardians with an apparent upper body injury after being involved in a collision at first base, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old collided with Guardians first baseman Gabriel Arias while attempting to beat out a grounder during the eighth inning, and Lewis flipped over Arias and appeared to land on his arms and head. Lewis was evaluated by the training staff for a few minutes but eventually left the field under his own power. Minnesota has a team day off Monday, and it's unclear if the young infielder will be available for Tuesday's series opener in Tampa Bay.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Sitting again Sunday

Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at San Francisco, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.

The 29-year-old finds himself on the bench for the second consecutive game despite the fact Gunnar Henderson (back) isn't in the lineup Sunday. Urias has gone just 2-for-20 in seven games since he returned from the injured list May 26. Josh Lester is making his team debut at third base after having his contract selected Saturday.
