Astros' Alex Bregman: Hits 11th home run

Bregman went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional run scored in an 8-3 victory over the Athletics on Friday.

Bregman helped power his team to victory by plating Yordan Alvarez on his 11th home run of the season. The two-run blast gives Bregman 44 RBI and 46 runs on the season to go along with a .242/.362/.423 slash line. He's posted multiple hits in two of his last four games. Bregman should continue to post quality counting stat numbers as the veteran cleanup hitter knows how to handle the bat and is nestled in-between Alvarez and Kyle Tucker in the productive Astros lineup.

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Walks it off Friday

Suarez went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 5-2 extra-innings win over the Blue Jays.

Suarez delivered the biggest hit of the contest, a walkoff blast in the 11th inning for his 15th homer of the year. He's seeing the ball well in July -- he's gone 9-for-27 (.333) with two homers and a double in his last seven contests. The third baseman's recent surge has him up to a .243/.334/.447 slash line with 44 RBI, 41 runs scored and 17 doubles through 84 contests.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Drives in three runs

Candelario went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-5 win over the White Sox.

Candelario belted a two-run homer off Lucas Giolito in the sixth inning before hitting an RBI single and scoring in the seventh. It was his sixth home run of the year and first since May 29. The 28-year-old registered a brutal .483 OPS during his 20-game homerless drought and he's now slashing .191/.257/.320 through 65 games this season.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Won't play Saturday

Devers (back) won't play Saturday against the Yankees, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Devers tweaked his back while hitting the railing on a foul ball Friday and was ultimately removed from the game in the top of the fifth inning. However, the right-hander is considered day-to-day and hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's series finale against the Yankees.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Dealing with low back pain

Devers exited Friday's game against the Yankees due to low back pain, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Devera appeared to tweak his back injury during an at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning, and he was replaced defensively for the top of the fifth. He was sidelined for two games earlier in the week due to a combination of hamstring and back tightness, but it's unclear whether his current injury will impact his availability any further.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Exits Friday's game

Devers was removed from Friday's game against the Yankees in the top of the fifth inning due to an apparent lower-back injury, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Devers struck out in the bottom of the fourth inning and appeared to be wincing and grabbing his lower back in the dugout prior to being replaced defensively for the top of the fifth. He missed two games earlier this week due to back tightness, but it's not yet clear whether his current injury will force him to miss additional time.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Out of lineup

Moncada will sit Friday against the the Tigers.

A reason for Moncada's absence has not been announced, but it's possibly related to the bruised right foot that forced him out of Wednesday's game against the Twins. He was able to start Thursday's series opener, though he went 0-for-3 in that contest. Josh Harrison slides to third base Friday, with Leury Garcia starting at second.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: On bench Friday

Walls will not start Friday's game against the Reds, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls ranks fourth on the Rays with 236 plate appearances, though that's due entirely to his defense and positional versatility, as his .165/.246/.269 slash line leaves more than a bit to be desired. Isaac Paredes and Wander Franco will be the middle infielders Friday, with Yandy Diaz starting at third base.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Drives in three runs Thursday

Suarez went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, two runs and a walk in Thursday's 8-3 victory versus the Blue Jays.

Suarez swatted one of three Seattle homers in the contest, smashing a solo shot to left field to cap the scoring in the fifth inning. Before that, he knocked in a pair of runs with a third-inning single. Suarez has been a solid source of power and run production this season, trailing only rookie phenom Julio Rodriguez for the team lead in homers (14) and RBI (41). His .240 batting average is also a nice improvement after he hovered around the Mendoza Line each of the past two seasons.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Goes yard twice

Devers went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs and five RBI on Thursday against the Yankees.

Devers returned to the lineup after a two-game absence caused by minor back and hamstring injuries. He didn't show any signs of discomfort or rust, as he took Gerrit Cole yard twice to bring his homer total on the season to 19. Overall, Devers is hitting .330/.387/.598 across 351 plate appearances on the campaign.
