Astros' Alex Bregman: Heads to injured list
Bregman (quadriceps) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.
The exact length of Bregman's absence remains unclear, but he'll be sidelined for at least 10 days as he recovers from the left quad strain suffered early in Wednesday's game against the Rangers. Garrett Stubbs was recalled to fill Bregman's roster spot, while Abraham Toro and Robel Garcia could see time at third base during his absence.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Returns to action Thursday
Moncada (illness) is batting third and playing third base in Thursday's series opener against the Astros.
As expected, Moncada returns to the lineup after a sinus infection sidelined him for three consecutive games. The switch-hitting third baseman was uncharacteristically cold with a .125 average in his last six games before the infection, but he's still hitting .280 on the season and, more significantly, boasts an OBP of .402.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Could miss significant time
Houston manager Dusty Baker said Bregman (quadriceps) could be out "for a while," Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Baker was also quick to point out that the severity of Bregman's injury is not yet known, and the third baseman will undergo further evaluation Thursday. It sounds like there is a wide range of possible outcomes in terms of downtime for Bregman. Robel Garcia replaced him Wednesday, and he figures to be the primary fill-in while Bregman is unavailable.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Indians' Jose Ramirez: Cranks 15th homer
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and a double Wednesday against Baltimore.
Ramirez put Cleveland ahead early, slugging a solo home run in the first inning. It was his 15th long ball of the season, though only his second since June 1. Two frames later, Ramirez delivered a two-RBI single. Despite the short-term lack of power production, Ramirez maintains an excellent .274/.354/.538 line across 268 plate appearances on the season.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Reaches base three times in win
Candelario went 1-for-3 with two talks, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Royals.
After missing about a week due to a personal matter and then being placed on the COVID-19 injured list to undergo health protocols, Candelario has collected hits in each of his first two games back. The infielder never really wows you with his production, but he's been steady for the Tigers since the start of last season. He should occupy a regular lineup spot now that he's back in the fold.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Twins' Josh Donaldson: Exits with calf injury
Donaldson left Wednesday's game against Seattle after the first inning due to a tight right calf muscle, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Donaldson appeared to grimace after rounding first base after a hit. He hurt his leg rounding first base on Opening Day and landed on the injured list. The Twins say his removal this time was as a precaution, but it's concerning given his history of calf injuries.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Nursing quad strain
Bregman left Wednesday's game against the Rangers with a left quad strain, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
The third baseman's limp suggested a leg-related injury, and this update confirmed as much. It's unclear at this time how severe the quad strain is and how long Bregman will be sidelined.

Bregman exited Wednesday's contest against the Rangers with a limp, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Expected back Thursday
White Sox manager Tony La Russa said that he expects Moncada (illness) to rejoin the lineup Thursday against the Astros, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Moncada will remain on the bench for a third straight game Wednesday against the Rays, though La Russa didn't rule out the possibility of the 26-year-old making a cameo off the bench as a pinch hitter. The White Sox would seemingly prefer to stay away from Moncada for another day as a precaution, but at his point, he appears to be making progress in his recovery from a sinus infection. Moncada will likely be re-evaluated early Thursday before the White Sox provide an update on his availability for the series opener in Houston.
