Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Clubs 20th homer
LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with two RBI in a 6-5 victory over the Indians on Saturday.
LeMahieu tied the score with an RBI single in the third inning and then hit his 20th homer to right field off Zach Plesac in the fifth to put the Yankees in front 5-4. The 31-year-old not only leads the league in batting average, but he's actually been better in August, hitting .375 with five homers. For the season, he's slashing .338/.386/.538 with 83 RBI in 455 at-bats.

Orioles' Jace Peterson: Gets breather Saturday
Peterson is out of the starting lineup Saturday against the Red Sox, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Peterson's day off comes after having started 12 straight games over which the outfielder is slashing .262/.319/.524 with two home runs, eight RBI and seven runs scored in 42 at-bats. The 29-year-old owns a .722 OPS in 21 plate appearances against southpaws. DJ Stewart will start in left field and hit seventh against lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on Saturday.

Rays' Matt Duffy: Lone bright spot in loss
Duffy went 3-for-4 in a loss to the Tigers on Friday.
Duffy produced the only multi-hit effort of the night for the Rays, who were held to five hits overall. The veteran infielder has mostly hit the ground running after finally kicking off his season July 23, as he now has six multi-hit efforts and is slashing a solid .290/.355/.348 over his first 76 plate appearances.

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Swats first homer at Triple-A
Madrigal went 1-for-5 with an inside-the-park home run for Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
Madrigal, the Knights' leadoff batter, scampered around the bases in his first at-bat of the game. It was his first home run since his promotion to Charlotte, and he's slashing .281/.354/.351 in 13 games with his new team.

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Garners one hit on rehab
Moncada (hamstring) went 1-for-5 for Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
Moncada kicked off his rehab assignment Friday, serving as the designated hitter for the Knights. The White Sox will want to see how he moves in the field before entertaining thoughts of activating the third baseman off the injured list.

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Hits another homer
Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 3-2 loss to the Yankees on Friday.
While his teammates combined for just one hit, Ramirez recorded two extra-base hits, including his third homer in two days. Since the All-Star break, Ramirez is batting .333 with 30 extra-base hits -- including 13 home runs -- 39 RBI and 26 runs in 138 at-bats. That's brought his overall numbers up to a respectable level after a horrific first half. Ramirez is batting .253 with 20 homers, 74 RBI, 65 runs and 24 steals in 455 at-bats this season.

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Homers twice Thursday
Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a grand slam, a two-run homer, six RBI and a pair of walks in the Indians' 19-5 win over the Yankees on Thursday.
Ramirez continued his resurgent second half of the season with two more homers, the first of which was a first-inning grand slam off Chad Green that kickstarted a huge day for the Cleveland offense. His start to the season was brutal, but Ramirez has looked much more like his MVP-candidate self since July 1, as he's posted a .975 OPS, cranked 12 long balls and driven in 37 runs since the calendar flipped from June.

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Homers twice once again
Chapman went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and another run scored in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Astros.
After hitting two home runs in Wednesday's win over the Giants, Chapman matched his success with a pair of solo shots against the Astros, bringing his season total to a team-leading 29. It was just the second multi-homer effort of the year for the 26-year-old as he reached a new milestone with a career-high 69 RBI.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Launches 29th homer
Bregman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the A's.
With two outs in the fourth inning, Bregman crushed a two-run homer off Mike Fiers to open up the scoring. The 25-year-old is now slashing .277/.405/.554 with a team-leading 29 long balls as he zooms closer to surpassing his career-high of 31 homers set during the 2018 season.

Twins' Willians Astudillo: Set to begin rehab assignment
Astudillo (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday with Double-A Pensacola, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Astudillo has been on the injured list since late June but appears ready to begin his rehab assignment in the coming days. The 27-year-old is likely still several weeks from a return to the major-league club, but it's encouraging to see him ready to begin action in live games.
