  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Homers in win

Suarez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a steal in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Cincinnati.

Suarez's eighth-inning home run gave the Diamondbacks a 4-2 cushion, which the team needed as the Reds plated a run in the bottom of the ninth. It was the third home run of the season for Suarez, who earlier in the game snapped an 0-for-14 stretch, while the stolen base was his first of 2024.

  • Marlins' Emmanuel Rivera: Loses out on regular role

Rivera is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Rivera started in eight consecutive games from April 27 through this past Saturday, but he appears to have lost hold of a regular role in the wake of Jake Burger's recent return from the injured list. He'll be on the bench Wednesday for the fourth consecutive contest.

  • Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL

Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Heading back to bench Wednesday

Ortiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

After sitting in four straight games to close out this past weekend, Ortiz picked up starts at second base and third base in the Brewers' first two contests in Kansas City, going 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a walk between those games. The 25-year-old still looks to be the Brewers' preferred option at the hot corner, though he'll give way to Oliver Dunn on Wednesday.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Sitting Wednesday amid slump

Hayes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Hayes will get a breather for the series finale after he had started in each of the Pirates' last 11 games. The 27-year-old went 8-for-42 over that stretch, bringing his batting average down to a career-worst .240 for the season. Jared Triolo will fill in for Hayes at the hot corner Wednesday.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Mashes grand slam in win

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins.

Muncy quickly put the Dodgers ahead with a first-inning grand slam off of Edward Cabrera. It was his sixth career grand slam and fourth home run in his last three games, as he now has eight RBI over that span. Muncy is currently hitting .263, which is well above his career average, and overall is slashing .263/.370/.570 with nine homers, 26 RBI, 22 runs and a 19:40 BB:K in 138 plate appearances.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Absent from Tuesday's lineup

Bohm is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

It's Bohm's first day off since April 15. Kody Clemens will handle third base Tuesday while Bohm grabs a seat.

  • Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Back in action Tuesday

Candelario (shin) is starting at third base and batting eighth Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

The 30-year-old was scratched from Sunday's starting nine due to a left shin contusion but is good to go following Monday's team off day. Candelario's .634 OPS for the season remains unimpressive, but he's gone 6-for-18 with a double and a homer over his past five contests.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Goes deep, swipes bag

Morel went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer, a walk and a steal in Monday's loss to the Padres.

Morel put the Cubs on the board with his two-run shot in the sixth inning after snagging a steal earlier in the contest. He has five hits over his last five games and four of them have left the yard. The 24-year-old is slashing .220/.315/.449 with 12 extra-base hits (eight home runs), four stolen bases and 23 RBI through 35 games this season.

  • Jonah Bride 3B | TEX

Marlins' Jonah Bride: Returns to Triple-A

Bride was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

After being called up Saturday, Bride went 1-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 12-3 win over the Athletics. With Jake Burger (oblique) returning from the 10-day injured list Monday, Bride was the odd man out on the major-league roster and he'll head back to Jacksonville. The 28-year-old has produced a .349 batting average with seven homers, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base over 86 at-bats in 25 games at Triple-A this season.

  • Oliver Dunn SS | TB

Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Back on bench Monday

Dunn is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Dunn started at third base in each of the past four contests and went 5-for-13 with a triple, a walk, three runs and an RBI over that stretch. Despite the run of steady playing time of late, Dunn is still expected to move back into a utility role, as manager Pat Murphy noted Sunday that he wanted to give the rookie a more extended look after he had fallen out of favor in recent weeks. Dunn likely hit well enough to maintain his spot on the 26-man active roster for now, but Joey Ortiz still profiles as the Brewers' top option at the hot corner.
