Jason Vosler 3B | SEA
Reds' Jason Vosler: Takes seat Monday
Vosler is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.
Since the Rays are deploying a lefty (Jalen Beeks) as their opening pitcher Monday, the lefty-hitting Vosler will take a seat for the third time in five games, with his other two absences also coming against southpaws. Wil Myers will get the nod at first base Monday, but Vosler should have a clear path to regular playing time versus righties at least until Joey Votto (shoulder/biceps) is activated from the 10-day injured list.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Making second straight start
Newman (shoulder) will serve as the Reds' designated hitter and No. 5 batter in Monday's game against the Rays.
Newman was struck on the shoulder by a pitch in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Phillies, but he was deemed available off the bench for the Reds' subsequent two games before he re-entered the lineup at shortstop in the series finale Sunday, going 1-for-3 with an RBI. After checking out fine following that game, he'll stick in the lineup for a second straight day, albeit in a non-defensive role.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Making fifth straight start
Senzel will start at third base and bat seventh Monday versus the Rays.
Senzel has started all five games since being activated from the 10-day injured list, with the previous four coming in center field. He's gotten off to an underwhelming start, going 3-for-15 with one extra-base hit and a stolen base. Senzel has also played some second base in addition to third base and the outfield, so he could be picking up some additional position eligibility in fantasy leagues.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Blasts sixth home run
Wisdom went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Dodgers.
Wisdom has now homered in three straight games, giving him six long balls on the season. After going deep a total of 53 times the last two years, he looks poised to reach the 20-homer plateau again in 2023. At this rate, Wisdom could definitely reach 30 home runs for the first time in his career as well. He doesn't offer a ton outside the power, but fantasy managers should welcome his recent production.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Four hits, homer in win
Candelario went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Guardians.
Candelario put on a show Sunday. He opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning before launching a home run, his third of the season, off Shane Bieber in the third. Candelario has hit safely in his last four contests, going 9-for-17 with two doubles and a homer in that span. The 29-year-old third baseman is off to a nice start, hitting .284/.310/.463 through his first 71 at-bats with Washington with nine RBI and nine runs scored.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Getting call-up from Triple-A
The Mets will recall Baty from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of Monday's game against the Dodgers, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.
Baty is one of the top position prospects in baseball and has scorched Triple-A pitching to the tune of a 1.386 OPS in nine games in the International League. The 23-year-old won't be in the lineup for Sunday's finale against the Athletics but should see regular playing time at the expense of the struggling Eduardo Escobar once his call-up is official. Baty's offensive upside makes him well worth an addition in the overwhelming majority of fantasy formats.
-
Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Out of lineup Sunday
Sosa (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds,
Sosa left Saturday's game against Cincinnati with discomfort in his lower back, and he'll sit for at least one more game for the series finale. Josh Harrison will handle third base duties while Alec Bohm makes the move over to first base for the contest.
-
Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Goes deep again
Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Dodgers.
Wisdom broke a scoreless tie with his 415-foot solo shot to center field in the fifth inning, and that stood as the decisive run until Los Angeles broke through with a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth. The long ball was the fifth of the campaign for Wisdom, tops on his team and tied for fifth-most in the league. The third baseman hit 53 home runs between 2022 and 2023, and he's shown so far this season that he can be a factor in fantasy for teams in need of power.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Clubs fourth homer
Davis went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Tigers.
His two-run blast in the third inning off Michael Lorenzen gave the Giants a 6-1 lead, but the defense and bullpen ended up squandering it as San Francisco got walked off by Detroit in the 11th inning for the second straight day. Davis has had a great start to 2023 despite the struggles of the team around him, batting .341 (14-for-41) through 13 games with four homers and 13 RBI.

Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Leaves with back discomfort
Sosa has left Saturday's game against the Reds with low back discomfort, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Lauber notes that Sosa went down at third base after getting hit by a hard grounder during the pregame workout, and it's possible that played a part in Sosa's departure. Alec Bohm moved to third base, while Kody Clemens took Sosa's place in the lineup and will play first.
