The star third baseman produced nearly all of St. Louis' offense against a standout Miami pitching effort, compiling three of his team's five singles after homering for his team's only runs Wednesday. It was the fourth multi-hit effort of the campaign for Arenado, who has gotten a hit in all but one of his 11 contests to start the season. He ranks second among qualified MLB hitters with a .405 average on the campaign.

Escobar went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's win over the Giants.
Escobar took Anthony DeSclafani yard in the second inning to record his first homer as a Met. Despite not hitting any homers prior to Thursday, Escobar had shown plenty of power by recording seven doubles and one triple in his first 12 starts this season. Overall, he's hitting .318/.363/.591 to go along with seven runs scored and five RBI across 56 plate appearances.

Newman started in the last three games and went 2-for-11 with a run. Hoy Park will take over at shortstop and bat ninth Thursday.

Escobar went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.
The veteran infielder is thriving in his first season as the Mets' starting third baseman, slashing .317/.462/.537 through 12 games with an 11:10 BB:K. Escobar's still looking for his first homer of the year, but eight of his 13 hits (seven doubles and a triple) have gone for extra bases, so it's only a matter of time before he goes yard.

Hayes went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers.
Hayes delivered Pittsburgh's only offense of the game with a two-RBI single in the eighth inning. After a hot start to the campaign, Hayes has slowed a bit of late, collecting only five hits in his last 25 at-bats. Even so, he's provided production across the board with five runs scored, four RBI and two stolen bases across 12 games.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Marlins.
After striking out in his first three at-bats against Sandy Alcantara, Arenado turned on an Anthony Bender fastball in the top of the ninth inning to produce the game's only offense. The veteran third baseman has five homers through his first 10 games this season to go along with a blistering .368/.442/.895 slash line, 14 RBI and 10 runs scored.

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Collects three RBI
McMahon went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI during Wednesday's 9-6 loss to the Rockies.
McMahon was hitless over the first two games of the series but provided his second multi-hit game of the campaign Wednesday. The 27-year-old inked a six-year, $70 million extension with the Rockies during spring training and has a .225/.326/.425 slash line with one home run, five doubles, seven RBI and six runs through 11 games.

Mets' Matt Reynolds: Designated for assignment
Reynolds was designated for assignment by the Mets on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Reynolds' contract was selected by the Mets on Friday, but he didn't have any plate appearances during his time with the major-league club. Mark Canha (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday, so Reynolds will lose his spot on the 40-man roster.
