Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: To learn left field
Senzel (finger) will play left field in Cincinnati's instructional league, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Senzel underwent season-ending surgery at the end of June on his right index finger, but he's already resumed hitting and should be ready for the start of the instructional league. Although he was drafted as a third baseman, saw time at shortstop in spring training and played second base most of the year in the minors, the Reds are interested in testing out Senzel's versatility even further in an effort to get his bat to the majors as quickly as possible, with Reds President of Baseball Operations Dick Williams citing players like Kris Bryant as examples of Senzel's possible usage around the diamond.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Not in Friday's lineup
Anderson is out of the starting nine versus Philadelphia on Friday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
Anderson went 2-for-8 with a double, one run scored and four strikeouts during Thursday's doubleheader against the Mets. He will head to the bench for a standard day off while Miguel Rojas draws a start at third base.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Dodgers' Manny Machado: Goes deep Thursday
Machado went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, three RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Cardinals.
Machado took John Brebbia deep in the seventh inning to record his 34th home run of the season. He had turned in a productive effort before the home run, driving in runs on a double and sacrifice fly. While his production has met preseason expectations, the long ball was Machado's first since Aug. 30, and he has managed just five RBI in that span.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Takes seat Thursday
Muncy is out of the lineup versus the Cardinals on Thursday.
As expected, Muncy will retreat to the bench with left-hander Austin Gomber on the rubber for St. Louis. David Freese will draw a start at first base. Look for Muncy to return to the starting nine for Friday's game.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Three hits, homer in win
Arenado went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Arenado brought home his first run with an RBI double in the third inning, then later brought Colorado back within one with a solo shot in the fifth. The 27-year-old has been as reliable as always, and is now hitting an even .300 to go along with 33 home runs and 99 RBI.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Blasts walkoff homer
LeMahieu went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and a strikeout in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.
LeMahieu was the hero in this one, depositing Yoshihisa Hirano's 1-1 offering with one out in the ninth over the fence for a walkoff win. The 30-year-old has been red hot all September, hitting .370 (17-for-46) in the month with three homers, three doubles, two triples and nine RBI.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Goes deep in losing effort
Escobar went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies.
Escobar took Colorado starter Jon Gray deep in the third inning for his 21st home run of the season. The 29-year-old had been slumping a bit of late, but he's now tallied five hits over the last three games to bring his average to .260 since coming to Arizona. He's now matched his career-best total in home runs and has already set a personal best with 81 RBI.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Sits vs. lefty
Moustakas is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs.
Moustakas, who is hitting .238/.333/.381 through seven games in September, will head to the bench with left-hander Jose Quintana toeing the rubber for the Cubs. In his place, Travis Shaw will man third base and hit sixth.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Records three hits
Escobar went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run Monday in the Diamondbacks' 13-2 loss to the Rockies.
It was Escobar's first multi-hit effort since Aug. 18, with the third baseman slashing a lowly .176/.260/.294 in the 19 games in between. While the prolonged slump has come at an unwelcome time with the Arizona offense struggling as a whole, Escobar has more than justified his low cost of acquisition in drafts and auctions heading into the season. The 29-year-old sits on a career-best .271 average and has already established personal highs in RBI (79), runs (68), hits (137) and doubles (45), with his mark in the last category trailing only the Astros' Alex Bregman (49) for the major-league lead.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Records three hits in win
LeMahieu went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI in Monday's win over the Diamondbacks.
LeMahieu registered his fifth straight multi-hit game, raising his average to .278. He's also shown more power this season with a career-high 14 home runs despite missing time with a thumb injury. He'll look to keep the hot streak going as the Rockies continue their crucial series with Arizona.
