Jake Burger 1B | TEX
White Sox's Jake Burger: Gets breather Wednesday
Burger isn't starting Wednesday against the Cubs, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.
Burger will get a day off after he went 2-for-6 with two RBI, a walk and four strikeouts over the last two games. Josh Harrison will shift to the hot corner while Leury Garcia starts at second base.

Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH
Orioles' Tyler Nevin: Takes seat Wednesday
Nevin (groin) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Nevin picked up his fifth consecutive start in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to Minnesota, but his night ended early after he experienced right groin soreness. The injury will keep him on the bench Wednesday, but the 24-year-old may have been headed for a reserve role moving forward anyway now that Trey Mancini is back in action after recently missing a few games with rib soreness.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Pirates' Kevin Newman: Resumes baseball activities
Newman (groin) has resumed all baseball activities except running, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Newman has been on the injured list for a week, and it's encouraging to see him participate in most baseball activities. The 28-year-old is expected to miss 3-to-5 weeks due to his left groin strain and will need to resume running before he's cleared to progress further in his recovery process.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Rays' Isaac Paredes: Delivers as pinch hitter
Paredes went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Athletics.
Paredes has drawn only one start since being recalled from Triple-A Durham on Sunday, though he entered Tuesday's game as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning. While he struck out in his initial plate appearance, Paredes redeemed himself with a two-run single in the following frame. There doesn't appear to be a consistent path to plate appearances for Paredes at this point, but he has collected two hits in first seven at-bats with the Rays.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Back with big club
The Royals recalled Rivera from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.
Kansas City optioned Rivera to Triple-A on Monday when the team needed to reduce its active roster from 28 to 26 men, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club just two days later since Carlos Santana (ankle) was moved to the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Though Santana's absence creates a void in the Royals' everyday lineup, Ryan O'Hearn and recent call-up MJ Melendez are expected to be bigger beneficiaries from playing-time standpoints than Rivera, who will likely serve as a utility infielder.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Makes another start versus righty
Davis will serve as the Mets' designated hitter and No. 7 batter in Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
After moving past a recent foot injury, Davis has picked up three starts during the four-game series with Atlanta. For the second straight game, he'll be included in the lineup against a right-handed pitcher, as Ian Anderson toes the rubber for Atlanta in the series finale. Meanwhile, the lefty-hitting Dominic Smith is on the bench, perhaps signaling that the righty-hitting Davis could be the Mets' preferred option at DH in the wake of Robinson Cano being cast off the 40-man roster.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Pops first homer of 2022
Moustakas went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Brewers.
Facing one of his former clubs, Moustakas showed a little life at the plate. His two extra-base hits Tuesday were his first two extra-base hits of the season. His plate skills and hand speed seem to be declining rapidly, but at least while he's on this Reds squad, his playing time should be secure.

Jake Burger 1B | TEX
White Sox's Jake Burger: Tallies multi-hit game
Burger went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday against the Cubs.
Burger entered the game having gone hitless in his last nine at-bats while striking out five times. While he struck out two more times Tuesday, Burger also drove in his seventh run of the season with an infield single in the second inning. Burger has seen an increased opportunity with Yoan Moncada (oblique) sidelined, though the former has struggled to a .250/.270/.383 line across 64 plate appearances. Burger's playing time is also likely to diminish significantly in the near future, as Moncada is currently on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte and could be activated from the injured list as early as Wednesday.

Rafael Devers 1B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Homers in win
Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory over the Angels.
The third baseman took Noah Syndergaard deep in the bottom of the fourth inning, putting the Red Sox up 1-0. The long ball was his fourth of the season and he is now up to 10 RBI as well. Devers has posted a .297/.311/.485 slash this season and has been putting the ball in play consistently over 101 at-bats, posting a career-low strikeout percentage to this point.

Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH
Orioles' Tyler Nevin: Leaves Tuesday's game
Nevin was removed from Tuesday's game against the Twins with right groin soreness, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
The 24-year-old went 0-for-1 with an RBI and was hit by a pitch before being pulling during the sixth inning. He was making his fifth straight start Tuesday since Ryan Mountcastle and Trey Mancini have dealt with some injuries of late but are now healthy, so Nevin's playing time is likely to dip regardless of the severity of the injury.
