  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Twins' Gio Urshela: Making third straight start

Urshela will start at third base and bat third in Monday's game against the Red Sox, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Urshela will pick up his third straight start at the hot corner with the lefty-hitting Luis Arraez taking a seat against Boston southpaw Rich Hill. Arraez's ability to play multiple positions should continue to allow Urshela to pick up occasional starts against right-handed pitching, too, but the 30-year-old hasn't done much in a small sample of 24 plate appearances to warrant much excitement. He's hitting .227 with a home run, no stolen bases, three runs and two RBI in eight games.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: RBI and stolen base

Davis pinch hit and went 1-for-1 with a RBI and a stolen base in a 5-0 win Sunday over Arizona.

Davis pinch hit for Travis Jankowski in the sixth with lefty Oliver Perez on the mound and singled in a run to increase the Mets' lead to 2-0. He was then replaced in the field by Nick Plummer. It was the first RBI of the season for the 28-year-old Davis, in large part because he has only started three of the first 10 games. He has only appeared as a designated hitter or pinch hitter and has yet to play the field in 2022.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Not in Sunday's lineup

Rendon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Rendon has a modest four-game hit streak during which he is 4-for-14 with a home run, three walks, three RBI and two steals, and he'll receive a day off Sunday. Jack Mayfield will start at the hot corner in the series finale at Texas.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Back in lineup

Segura (hand) will start at second base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Marlins, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Segura will check back into the starting nine after a left hand injury kept him out of the lineup for the past three games. Bryson Stott will move back to the bench after filling in for Segura at the keystone during all three of those games.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Won't start Sunday

Hayes is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Along with center fielder Bryan Reynolds, Hayes will get his first off day of the season as the Pirates look to extend breathers to their two most valuable position players. Michael Chavis, who went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in Saturday's 6-4 win, will be rewarded with a second straight start and fill in for Hayes at third base.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Pirates' Kevin Newman: Sidelined again Sunday

Newman (groin) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Newman will miss his third game in a row on account of the groin issue. Diego Castillo will draw the start at shortstop in place of Newman, who is being viewed as day-to-day. In the event Newman's groin forces him to the injured list, the Pirates could bring up top prospect Oneil Cruz from Triple-A Indianapolis to step in as the team's everyday shortstop.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Not starting Sunday

Urias is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Urias has started six of eight games at the hot corner to begin the season but finds himself on the bench for Sunday's contest. Kelvin Gutierrez will start in his place for the series finale in New York.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Swipes first bag

Walls went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and a stolen base Saturday against the White Sox.

Walls drew the start at shortstop Saturday, as Wander Franco was in the lineup as the designated hitter. He was hit by a pitch in his opening plate appearance and subsequently swiped second base to record his first steal of the campaign. That was the only good news for Walls in the contest, as he struck out in his remaining three at-bats -- including for the final out of the game.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Swipes bag Saturday

Rendon went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-2 win over Texas.

Rendon drove in the Angels' second run with a sacrifice fly in the second inning and stole second base following a walk in the seventh. The veteran third baseman has started slowly with a .185/.303/.296 slash line through 33 plate appearances, but he's given his fantasy managers some value with two thefts. Rendon didn't even attempt a stolen base in either of his previous two campaigns.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Goes deep in win

Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-2 win over Baltimore.

Donaldson hit his first long ball of the campaign in the fifth inning, drilling a 403-foot two-run blast to give the Yankees a lead they did not relinquish. The veteran also doubled in the ninth, giving him his first multi-hit game since Opening Day. Donaldson is slashing .222/.282/.361 overall this season.
