  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Trio of hits in loss

Garcia went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's 6-3 loss against the Tigers.

Garcia reached base in all four plate appearances Sunday, tallying his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign. Following a breakout 2025 season in which he posted an .800 OPS, the third baseman has continued to produce in 2026. Through 39 games, the 26-year-old is slashing .285/.353/.437 with 12 doubles, a triple, three homers, 16 RBI, 21 runs and four stolen bases while operating exclusively out of the leadoff spot.

  • Gage Workman 3B | DET

Tigers' Gage Workman: Blasts pinch-hit homer

Workman went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Royals.

Workman came off the bench to make his Tigers debut and wasted no time making an impact, crushing a two-run homer to give his club the lead in the sixth inning. The Arizona State product posted a 1.003 OPS with four homers, 28 RBI and 12 stolen bases across 35 games with Triple-A Toledo before being called up prior to Sunday's contest. The 26-year-old has primarily worked in the infield but also has some outfield experience that could help him earn playing time with Kerry Carpenter (shoulder) on the injured list.

  • Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Scores twice in win

Vargas went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Mets.

Vargas was involved in the offense for a second straight game after driving in both runs in Saturday's 2-0 win. The utility infielder is expected to stick at first base even with the pending activation of Carlos Santana (thigh). Vargas is slashing .341/.366/.571 with six home runs, a team-high 24 RBI and 21 runs scored over 32 games.

  • Kazuma Okamoto 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Kazuma Okamoto: Extends hit streak to nine games

Okamoto went 1-for-4 with an RBI double during the Blue Jays' 6-1 loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Okamoto was responsible for the Blue Jays' lone run Sunday, with his double in the first inning bringing Daulton Varsho home. Okamoto has recorded at least one hit in nine consecutive games and has driven in at least one run in nine of his last 12 outings. In that 12-game span, he has gone 14-for-46 (.304) with five home runs, 15 RBI and eight runs scored.

  • Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA

Angels' Oswald Peraza: Breaks out of HR drought Sunday

Peraza went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during the Angels' 6-1 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Peraza put the Angels on the board in the fifth inning with two-run long ball off Eric Lauer. It was Peraza's fifth home run of the year (tying his mark across 264 plate appearances in 2025) and his first long ball since April 16 against the Yankees. He is slashing .282/.339/.476 with five steals, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored across 113 plate appearances this season while serving as the Halos' utility man.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Swats 10th homer

Muncy went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-2 loss to Atlanta.

Muncy provided the Dodgers' lone runs of the game with his eighth-inning homer. The third baseman had gone 11 contests without a long ball prior to Sunday, a noticeable drop in power compared to how he started the season. He's batting .273 with a .919 OPS, 10 homers, 15 RBI, 26 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases across 38 games this year.

  • Gage Workman 3B | DET

Tigers' Gage Workman: Added to big-league roster

The Tigers selected Workman's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

Workman has spent most of his career in the Tigers organization, but he briefly saw time in the big leagues in 2025 with the Cubs and White Sox as a Rule 5 Draft pick before he was returned to Detroit in May. He now looks poised to see MLB action with the Tigers for the first time after the team called him up as a replacement on the roster for outfielder Kerry Carpenter (shoulder), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. Workman has posted a 1.003 OPS with four home runs and 12 stolen bases over 35 games with Toledo this season while seeing time at second base, third base and shortstop. He hasn't played the outfield in 2026, but he made double-digit starts at all three spots with Toledo a season ago.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Taking seat against lefty

Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Keith will hit the bench for the second time in the series while the Royals send another southpaw (Noah Cameron) to the hill. Zack Short will serve as Keith's replacement on the left side of the Detroit infield, covering shortstop while Kevin McGonigle shifts over to third base.

  • Addison Barger 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Headed for MRI

Barger will undergo an MRI on his right elbow after waking up Sunday with limited range of motion, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Barger was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels due to right elbow soreness, which is a brutal development after he returned from the injured list Saturday following a month-long absence due to ankle injuries. The exact cause of the arm injury isn't known, but it's worth noting that the 26-year-old outfielder fired a 101.2-mph missile to throw out a runner at the plate Saturday. Barger seems unlikely to be in the lineup for Monday's series opener versus Tampa Bay, and his availability beyond that is also in question.

  • Zach McKinstry 2B | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Taking seat against southpaw

McKinstry is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Though he'll hit the bench Sunday with lefty Noah Cameron taking the hill for the Royals, the left-handed-hitting McKinstry has been included in the lineup in all three of the Tigers' matchups with right-handed starters/bulk relievers since being activated from the injured list Tuesday. McKinstry is playing through a Grade 3 tear of his pelvic bone that he sustained back on April 15, but he'll likely hold down a strong-side platoon role for Detroit until the team gets one or both of Gleyber Torres (oblique) and Javier Baez (ankle) back from the IL.
