  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Lifts seventh homer

Vientos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Vientos has two homers over his last four contests after going deep in the eighth inning Sunday. The third baseman is up to seven long balls, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases while slashing .289/.344/.526 over 125 plate appearances. Vientos has been operating in a starting role at the hot corner since Brett Baty was demoted to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of May.

  • Joseph Ortiz 2B | MIL

Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Notches fifth steal

Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Padres.

Ortiz logged his second multi-hit effort in a row after going 11 contests without one. The infielder has maintained a strong .278/.383/.449 slash line with six home runs, five steals, 27 RBI, 31 runs scored, 13 doubles and two triples over 244 plate appearances this season. While the overall numbers are good, he has just three extra-base hits across 20 games in June.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Provides offense Sunday

Morel went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Mets.

Morel provided all of Chicago's offense with his 15th home run of the season in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old has hit 15 or more homers in each of his three MLB seasons to date, including a career high 26 long balls last year in 107 games. Assuming he stays healthy, Morel could surpass that figure in 2024 as the team is still a few games shy of the season's midpoint.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Goes deep again

Westburg went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-1 loss to the Astros.

The Orioles' offense went from hot to cold in a hurry -- Westburg's home runs in back-to-back games are their only scoring plays in those contests. The infielder is still warm, going 16-for-57 (.280) over his last 14 games with four homers, four doubles, two triples and nine RBI in that span. For the season, he's up to 13 long balls, 45 RBI, 40 runs scored and six stolen bases with an .843 OPS over 71 contests.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Knocks four hits

Bregman went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Baltimore.

Bregman turned in a perfect day at the plate, starting with a double and a run scored during Houston's four-run first inning. It was his third multi-hit performance over his last four games. He's gone 17 straight games without a home run, but he's hitting .354 (23-for-65) during that span. Bregman's season slash line is up to .257/.318/.414 with 33 runs scored and 26 extra-base hits through 74 games.

  • Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Returned to Triple-A

Peraza was optioned back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Sunday's 3-1 loss to Atlanta.

Peraza was called up to replace Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) on the major-league roster after Stanton was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, but Peraza failed to appear in the team's contest against Atlanta before being returned to Triple-A. With Stanton expected to miss approximately four weeks with a left hamstring strain, it's possible that Peraza makes multiple trips between the big leagues and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre over that time frame.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Athletics' Abraham Toro: Sidelined through All-Star break

Toro (hamstring) will be out at least through the All-Star break, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Toro landed on the injured list Saturday due to a Grade 1 strain of his right hamstring, and the A's have already determined that his absence will extend into the second half of the season. Tyler Nevin figures to see the majority of reps at third base until Toro returns, though Aledmys Diaz and Armando Alvarez may also pick up a few starts.

  • Ernie Clement SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Sitting Sunday

Clement is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Clement will begin Sunday's game in the dugout after going 0-for-4 with one strikeout in Saturday's 6-3 loss. Addison Barger will start at the hot corner Sunday and bat sixth against Cleveland right-hander Triston McKenzie.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Absent from lineup Sunday

Sosa is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Tigers.

Sosa will get his first breather Sunday since June 13. In the eight games since, he's gone 7-for-30 with two doubles, one home run and four RBI. Danny Mendick will start at third base Sunday and bat eighth against Tigers right-hander Reese Olson.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Struggling on rehab assignment

The Reds haven't yet committed to activating Marte (suspension) when he's first eligible to return to the big club June 27, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Reds manager David Bell professes not to be paying attention to Marte's numbers during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville as he continues the ramp-up process. Through the first 10 games of his assignment, Marte is hitting .156/.156/.178 with no walks and 13 strikeouts. If Marte can get back up to speed, the Reds could really use him both offensively and defensively at third base.
