Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Homers, steals base
Lewis went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and one steal in Sunday's 6-5 loss against the Rangers.
Lewis provided most of the offense for Minnesota, first tying the game in the fifth on a three-run shot, then tying the game again in the eighth with an RBI single. He followed up the single with his fourth stolen base of the season but was left stranded on the basepaths. Lewis is now slashing .307/.354/.521 in 43 games this season and has accrued six homers, 18 RBI, 13 runs and three steals in 68 at-bats over 16 games since returning from an oblique injury in the middle of August.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Hoping to swing bat this week
Chapman (finger) said Sunday that he's hopeful to resuming swinging a bat and making throws with a baseball this week while the Blue Jays are in Oakland for a three-game series with the Athletics, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
Though Chapman noted that the swelling in his sprained right middle finger has gone down considerably since he landed on the 10-day injured list last Monday, he's still not able to make a fist with his hand. Chapman believes he'll regain more flexibility with the finger in the coming days, in which case he would be able to resume baseball activities. He still may have an outside shot at coming off the IL before next weekend's series with the Royals, though at this stage, Chapman's absence seems likelier to stretch into the following week.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Angels' Mike Moustakas: Idle versus lefty
Moustakas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Moustakas will join fellow left-handed hitters Nolan Schanuel and Trey Cabbage on the bench while the Athletics bring southpaw Kyle Muller to the hill for the series finale. Eduardo Escobar will replace Moustakas at third base and bat fifth.

Mark Vientos DH | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Out Sunday with sore foot
Vientos (foot) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.
Vientos will take a seat for the series finale after he went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk before exiting Saturday's 8-7 loss with a sore right foot. The Mets will have Labor Day off, so Vientos will get two days to move past the foot injury before the team opens its two-game set in Washington on Tuesday.

Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE
Nationals' Carter Kieboom: Rests Sunday
Kieboom is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Kieboom will cede third base to Ildemaro Vargas for the series finale after starting in each of the past five games. Since receiving a call-up from Triple-A Rochester on Aug. 20, Kieboom has gotten on base at a .275 clip in 10 games, but he's showcased some good power (three home runs and a double). The Nationals will likely give Kieboom an extended look as their everyday third baseman down the stretch.

Andre Lipcius 3B | CHW
Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Hits first MLB home run
Lipcius went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 10-0 win over the White Sox.
Lipcius connected in the first inning against Chicago starter Mike Clevinger, giving him his first home run at the MLB level in his second game after hitting 11 long balls for Triple-A Toledo this season across 97 games. The 25-year-old looks mostly like a depth option for the Tigers at this point, though they could give him more playing time down the stretch as they turn their focus to 2024.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Returns to lineup Sunday
Madrigal is starting at third base and batting eighth in Sunday's game against the Reds.
Madrigal received a breather Saturday amid a 1-for-12 slump, but he'll return to the lineup Sunday. The infielder is still batting a solid .270 this season, though he's mostly a contact hitter with only two home runs through 79 games.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Three hits in win
Peraza went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Astros.
Getting another start at second base in place of Gleyber Torres (back) and batting eighth, Peraza was the only Yankee to collect multiple hits on the night -- a surprising turn of events considering that prior to Saturday's eruption, the 23-year-old had gone just 2-for-33 (.061) in 10 games since his late August promotion. Peraza isn't one of the bigger names among the Baby Bombers currently filling the New York lineup, but after posting a .268/.357/.479 slash line in 300 plate appearances at Triple-A this season with 14 homers and 16 steals, he could still be part of the franchise's future, especially if Torres gets shifted off the keystone next season.
-
Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Cubs' Jeimer Candelario: Provides offense Saturday
Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 loss against the Reds.
The switch-hitting infielder broke a scoreless tie with his seventh-inning solo shot, chasing Cincinnati starter Andrew Abbott from the game. Candelario came into the contest amid a 2-for-29 (.069) slide across his previous nine games; however, Saturday's home run gave the 29-year-old a career-high 20, and his season-long batting average now sits at .259 with 37 doubles, 66 RBI, 72 runs scored and eight steals across 529 plate appearances.

Mark Vientos DH | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Departs with sore foot
Vientos had to be lifted from Saturday's game versus the Mariners because of right foot soreness, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Vientos evidently was bothered by a sore foot during his recent injured list stint due to left wrist tendinitis, and the foot issue flared up on him while running the bases Saturday. He'll be re-evaluated Sunday. Vientos cranked a solo home run and reached base three times Saturday before exiting.
