  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Golfs homer in win

Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Boston's bats had been quelled by Spencer Strider before Devers reached down for a pitch that Statcast indicated was 1.06 feet off the ground and sent it to the right field bleachers. It was the third-lowest pitch hit for a homer in MLB this year, per Ian Browne of MLB.com. The homer ignited the Red Sox, which plated five runs over the final three innings for a comeback win. Devers has hit safely in five straight, going 8-for-19 with two home runs during that span.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Giants' J.D. Davis: Clubs 13th homer

Davis went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Athletics.

Davis opened the scoring with his first-inning blast, snapping an 0-for-13 skid at the plate. The corner infielder has struck out at a 33.8 percent rate in July, noticeably higher than his 28.6 percent mark for the season. He's launched 13 homers -- his most in four years -- with 51 RBI, 41 runs scored, a stolen base and a .259/.341/.432 slash line through 95 contests overall.

  • Jake Burger 3B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Pops homer Wednesday

Burger went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 10-7 loss to the Cubs.

Burger was at second base for the second game in a row, which could be a long-term shift to keep his bat in the lineup. He may need to make some improvements at the plate to keep Elvis Andrus or Zach Remillard on the bench -- Burger has gone just 2-for-26 over his last seven contests while adding a 2:9 BB:K in that span. For the season, the infielder has a poor .212 average but a solid .772 OPS with 22 homers, 48 RBI, 40 runs scored and a stolen base through 84 games.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Blasts homer Wednesday

Bregman went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 13-5 loss to the Rangers.

Bregman's first-inning homer got the Astros off to a good start, but it quickly unraveled by the middle innings. He's posted five homers while hitting .421 (16-for-38) over his last 10 contests. The third baseman is up to a .256/.347/.430 slash line with 17 long balls, 66 RBI, 62 runs scored and three stolen bases through 102 games overall.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Two hits, homer in loss

McMahon went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to Washington.

McMahon had Jake Irvin figured out early, notching a single in his first at-bat against the right-hander before taking him deep in his second trip to the plate to put the Rockies up 2-0. The third baseman came into the contest batting just .190 in July but he's now recorded multiple hits in three of his last four games. With Wednesday's long ball he's now hit exactly four home runs in each month this season.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Two homers, stolen base in win

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-3 victory over the Royals.

Ramirez did it all in the Guardians' win, opening the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning before adding a solo shot in the third. He also added a walk and a base hit while swiping his 13th bag of the year. Ramirez has been swinging the bat well of late, going 14-for-38 (.368) in his last nine games. The 30-year-old third baseman is putting together another strong season -- he's now slashing .292/.362/.501 with 16 homers, 60 RBI and 64 runs scored across 439 plate appearances.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Sitting against lefty

Baty is not in the lineup Wednesday versus the Yankees.

Mark Vientos will start at third base and bat second as the Mets take on southpaw Carlos Rodon. The left-handed-hitting Baty has slashed just .175/.203/.298 in 61 plate appearances versus lefties this year.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Sitting out with back issue

Henderson (back) is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's tilt in Philadelphia, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Henderson was forced to depart Tuesday's loss to the Phillies with lower back discomfort. He's feeling better, though, and expects to be ready to go Friday versus the Yankees following Thursday's off day. Jorge Mateo is at shortstop Wednesday.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Goes deep Tuesday

Machado went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in a 5-1 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Machado hit one of three homers for the Padres in the contest, producing the team's first run with a solo shot in the second inning. It was the continuance of a July power surge for the third baseman, who has gone deep 11 times through 20 games this month. That has pushed him to 20 long balls and 58 RBI to go along with three steals, 50 runs and a .257/.316/.472 slash line on the campaign.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Getting rare day off

Arenado is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Arizona.

Arenado gets a rare day off after he had an eight-game hitting streak snapped Tuesday. Taylor Motter will get the start at third base in place of Arenado.
