Castro is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

The switch-hitting Castro started the first seven games of the season but has a .130/.286/.130 slash line and will take a seat for Monday's contest. Jose Miranda, who was called up from Triple-A St. Paul earlier in the day, will start at third base and bat fifth.

Cabrera is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest against the Marlins, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Cabrera has now started nine of 11 games this season, with eight of the starts coming at third base. He will yield to Jon Berti in this one, marking the second straight time Berti has been at the hot corner against a left-hander.

The Twins recalled Miranda from Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

The 25-year-old missed out on Minnesota's Opening Day roster but will join the big club less than two weeks into the season. Miranda is unlikely to see significant playing time, but he could be an injury away from a more regular role since Royce Lewis (quadriceps) is already out for the foreseeable future.

Rojas went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a walk and a run in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday.

It was a busy afternoon for Rojas, who also pitched the eighth inning of the lopsided loss and gave up a two-run home run to William Contreras. Rojas' exploits at the plate were much more noteworthy, however, as the 29-year-old extended a season-opening hot streak that sees him now boasting a .412 average and .915 OPS across his first 18 plate appearances.

Moncada went 2-for-5 with a double Sunday against the Royals.

Moncada tallied only his second multi-hit game of the season, but he has at least one knock in seven of his nine games. He also boasts an impressive 13.2 percent walk rate. Despite his strong individual start to the new campaign, Moncada has just three runs scored and zero RBI due to the poor lineup context around him -- something that doesn't project to change in 2024.

Riley went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

After striking out in two of his first three at-bats, RIley came through for Atlanta with a two-run shot to give the team three runs of cushion heading into the ninth. He hasn't exactly been lighting up the box score in 2024, but Riley has consistently been one of baseball's best bats at the third-base position and should once again push for 30-plus homers.

Sosa went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and an additional run batted in Sunday against the Nationals.

Sosa made his first appearance in over a week, filling in for Bryson Stott -- who got the day off -- at second base. He delivered his first long ball of the campaign, tagging MacKenzie Gore for a solo homer in the fifth frame. He got only two looks at the plate, with Stott coming in to replace Sosa in the eighth inning. The utility man should continue to play sparingly, but he's a decent bat when in the lineup.

McKinstry went 1-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Athletics and is now batting .313 across seven appearances this season.

McKinstry isn't known as an offensive threat, but he's off to a strong start in his utility role. He started at shortstop Sunday with regular Javier Baez, who is batting just .154 so far, getting the day off. Baez will likely stick as the primary starter, though McKinstry could start to earn more playing time if he continues to reach base at a solid clip.

Newman started at second base and went 0-for-3 in Sunday's 5-2 loss to Atlanta.

The Diamondbacks selected Newman's contract from Triple-A Reno after Geraldo Perdomo (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list. He'll require surgery and is expected to miss at least one month. Newman has experience all around the infield and could get starts against left-handers, as was the case Sunday. Blaze Alexander, another right-handed hitter, started at shortstop Sunday.

Gelof went 4-for-5 including a home run and a triple with four RBI and three runs scored during Sunday's win over the Tigers.

Gelof entered Sunday's game with just five hits in 32 at-bats over his first nine games but finished just a double shy of the cycle while collecting his first home run and first four RBI of the young season. The home run was a three-run shot in the second inning that opened a five-run lead for the A's, as they cruised to a victory. The 2021 second rounder showed well last year in his first season in Oakland with a .267 average to go along with 14 homers and 14 steals over 300 plate appearances. With a full season ahead of him, a 20/20 season is well within the possible range of outcomes for the talented second baseman.
