  • Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI

Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Sitting out Tuesday

Castro is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Castro slugged a two-run homer in the Pirates' defeat of the Rockies on Monday night, but he'll get a breather in the second game of the three-game set at PNC Park. Tucupita Marcano is covering shortstop and batting eighth.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Goes on IL with strained hamstring

Urias was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Orioles on Tuesday with a strained left hamstring.

Urias suffered the injury during Monday's loss to the Rays. The severity of the strain is unclear at the moment, and therefore, so is Urias' timetable. Urias is sporting a .756 OPS with one home run and two stolen bases in 30 games this season.

  • Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Lands on IL with ankle sprain

The Yankees placed Peraza (ankle) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

The move is retroactive to Saturday, which means Peraza will be eligible to return May 16. While he hadn't played in nearly a week, Peraza was said to be available off the bench in recent days, so it's reasonable to think he might be ready when his 10 days are up.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Marlins' Jean Segura: Ejected as slump deepens

Segura went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts before being ejected from Monday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

The veteran infielder didn't like the called third strike on his final at-bat of the night and slammed his helmet down in frustration, resulting in the ejection. Segura is slashing .160/.222/.200 over his last 15 games, and per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, he could get some time off soon to clear his head and work on his swing. "He wants to play and try to get out of it," manager Skip Schumaker said Monday. "Sometimes, guys need a couple days of work, sometimes guys want to keep playing and get through it. There's obviously been conversation on both sides of it. We talk to each player every day about how they feel."

  • Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI

Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Blasts go-ahead homer

Castro went 1-for-2 with a walk and two-run home run in Monday's 2-0 win over the Rockies.

Castro's two-run blast in the seventh off Kyle Freeland accounted for the only runs scored Monday. Despite the home run, Castro has struggled since the start of May, collecting just three hits over 18 at-bats while striking out seven times compared to just two walks. He's also committed three defensive errors during that stretch as well.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Hits fourth home run of season

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-2 loss against the Tigers.

Ramirez opened the scoring by grounding into a double olay in the first inning, but he wasn't credited with an RBI. His fourth home run of the season came in the fourth and cut Detroit's lead to 4-2, but he was retired his next two times up, including in the sixth when he accounted for the game-tying run. Ramirez has hit safely in seven straight games and is currently slashing .281/.361/.452 across 35 contests (155 plate appearances). Given his standards, the third baseman is struggling in the power department to start the year, but he has more walks (18) than strikeouts (13), which suggests the power numbers will come eventually.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Dealing with hamstring strain

Urias suffered a left hamstring strain during Monday's game against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. He went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks prior to departing.

Urias left Monday's game against the Rays due to an undisclosed injury, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Dealing with neck stiffness

Arenado was scratched from Monday's game against the Cubs due to neck stiffness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Goold notes that the team is holding him out of the starting nine as a precaution, so it doesn't sound as though he'll need a stint on the injured list at this time. He'll likely be re-evaluated Tuesday morning to determine his availability for the second game of the series in Chicago.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Scratched with neck stiffness

Arenado was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs with neck stiffness, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The Cardinals are calling Arenado's removal from the lineup precautionary The third baseman will take a seat against the Cubs due to the stiff neck with Nolan Gorman now handling the hot corner for Monday's contest. Arenado should be considered day-to-day, but St. Louis will make sure he's fully healthy before returning him to the starting lineup.
