    Eduardo Escobar will play third base and bat eighth with left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound for Detroit. Baty has seen more action against lefties over the last week or so, but he'll grab a bit of rest as the Mets wrap up this three-game set at Comerica Park.

    Riley went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 14-6 win over the Marlins.

    Atlanta slugged six homers on the night, with Riley adding to the fireworks in the fifth inning on a Devin Smeltzer changeup. The streaky third baseman has been in a cold stretch lately, batting .143 (6-for-42) over his last 11 games, but Riley's still managed to go deep twice during that time. On the season, he's slashing .239/.331/.427 with six homers and 18 RBI in 31 contests.

    Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Demolishes third homer

    Suarez went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 7-2 win over Oakland.

    Suarez came up clutch for Seattle, mashing a homer to right-center to give the Mariners a 5-2 lead in the top of the 10th inning. Wednesday's three-run shot ended a 1-for-19 stretch, and that slump dropped his slash line to .234/.312/.324. The 31-year-old hit 31 homers in each of the past two seasons, but he's well behind that pace in 2023 with just three long balls through 30 games.

    Peraza will receive X-rays after rolling his right ankle during Wednesday's win over Cleveland, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

    The results of Peraza's X-rays will help determine whether a stint on the injured list is necessary for the 22-year-old shortstop. Until more information is provided, he should be considered day-to-day.

    Burger was grabbing at his left side after coming up empty on a swing in the fourth inning. The 27-year-old slugger is still being evaluated, and more details regarding the severity of his injury should be revealed once the results come back. Burger is slashing .231/.320/.631 through 75 plate appearances this season.

    Burger was lifted from Wednesday's contest against Minnesota in the fifth inning due to an apparent side injury, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

    Burger appeared to wince and grab at his left side after swinging and missing at a pitch in the fourth inning. More details will likely come after Wednesday's game, but the 27-year-old infielder should be considered day-to-day until more is known. Hanser Alberto came in to replace Burger at third base.

    Muncy went 1-for-5 with a grand slam in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.

    Muncy came up with the bases loaded against Craig Kimbrel in the bottom of the ninth and promptly unloaded them with one swing, giving the Dodgers a 10-6 win and a sweep of the Phillies. The grand slam was Muncy's 12th home run this season, putting him back atop the league leaderboard. The 32-year-old infielder's OPS is up to 1.039 through 118 plate appearances. He's added 27 RBI, 22 runs scored and a stolen base.
