  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Hits first dinger of season

Longoria went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss against the Padres.

After sitting Sunday, Longoria was back in the starting lineup Monday and smacked his first home run as a Diamondback. The veteran has struggled with injuries, playing less than 90 games in three straight seasons (all with San Francisco), but if he can stay on the field, he figures to see plenty of plate appearances with his new squad.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Swats first home run

Devers went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Pirates.

Devers hit his first home run of the season -- the first of three first-inning home runs -- but Boston pitching squandered an early advantage. Thus far, it's looking like Red Sox bats will carry the team, as only one starter has pitched into the fifth inning. Devers has done his part, hitting safely in all four games (8-for-19) with three extra-base hits, five runs scored and two RBI.

  • Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Hits homer in loss

Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a loss to the Rays on Monday.

Candelario scored both of Washington's runs in the defeat. He reached on an error in the seventh and crossed the plate on a Lane Thomas groundout, then homered in his final at-bat to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning. Candelario has gone 2-for-7 over his past two games after going hitless across seven at-bats over the Nationals' first two contests of the campaign, but his defense at third base should keep in the starting role even if he doesn't supply much production with his bat.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Slugs first homer of 2023

Paredes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a 6-2 win against Washington on Monday.

Paredes recorded his first homer of the campaign in the fourth inning, swatting a 404-foot solo shot to left field. He added a leadoff single in the ninth and came around to score Tampa Bay's final run of the contest. Paredes has gotten at least one hit in three of his four contests so far this season and is slashing .308/.308/.538 with three runs and a pair of RBI.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Blasts first homer

Peterson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in an extra-inning loss to the Guardians on Monday.

Peterson's 401-foot shot to right center in the second inning extended Oakland's lead to 6-2 at the time and served as his first time leaving the yard in an A's uniform. Monday was only Peterson's second start over the first four games of the season, but he should continue to see plenty of opportunity against right-handed pitching.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Reaches base four times

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored, two RBI, a steal and a walk in Monday's win against the Athletics.

Ramirez did most of his damage in the eighth inning by scoring a run after smacking an RBI triple. He later singled in a run and swiped second base in the 10th. It was his first multi-hit game of the year after tallying exactly one hit in each of the first four contests. Ramirez has gone 7-for-22 with two steals and three extra-base hits.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Reds' Jason Vosler: Homers off bench

Vosler went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's win over the Cubs.

He entered the game in the bottom of the second inning, replacing Jose Barrero (hamstring) on the bases. Vosler stayed in at first base as Wil Myers moved out to right field and TJ Friedl shifted to center. Vosler would end up playing the hero for Cincinnati, hitting a three-run shot in the fifth inning which proved to be the game winner. While he's not an everyday starter for the Reds, Vosler has been swinging the bat well early on when given the opportunity.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

    Astros' Alex Bregman: Ends slump

Bregman went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Monday's loss to Detroit.

After an 0-for-16 start to his 2023 campaign, Bregman finally looked like himself with a three-hit day. All three hits were singles, though two of them were ripped over 98 mph off the bat. Bregman is now 3-for-21 with two walks and seven strikeouts.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Goes deep in win

Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's win against Texas.

The star rookie's solo shot in the fourth inning against Jon Gray proved to be the only offense the Orioles needed. Henderson snapped an 0-for-8 skid to begin his 2023 campaign with Monday's multi-hit performance. He also struck out twice, bringing his season K:BB to 6:6.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: X-rays clean on wrist

Wisdom was hit on his left wrist by a pitch Monday against the Reds but X-rays came back clean, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

He was hit on the wrist by a pitch from Ian Gibaut but stayed in the game and went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Wisdom said the wrist felt tender when swinging and he's still sore, but he noted that he'd be OK. It sounds like he is day-to-day.
