Langeliers went 1-for-5 with a grand slam in an extra-inning loss to the Twins on Friday.

Langeliers got the Athletics' night started on the right foot with his 408-foot shot to left center in the first inning that cleared the bases and established an early 4-0 lead. The backstop's big homer was his first since May 30, and it marked his fourth time hitting safely in the last five games. Langeliers pushed his OPS back up to .708 as well, but he's still carrying a paltry .204 average and .263 on-base percentage.

Trevino went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in an 8-1 win against Boston on Friday.

Trevino homered in his final at-bat of the contest, taking Red Sox reliever Chase Anderson deep to left field. The long ball was the catcher's second in his past two starts and his seventh overall this season, putting him well on pace to surpass the career-best mark of 11 that he established in 2022. Austin Wells entered the campaign as the slight favorite for primary catching duties with New York, but Trevino has seized that role with a strong season at the plate, as he's complemented his homer total with 18 runs, 24 RBI and a .271/.319/.434 slash line through 142 plate appearances.

Perez was pulled from Friday's game against the Dodgers due to right knee discomfort.

Perez hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give Kansas City a 3-0 lead, but his knee caused him to come out of the game during the eighth. It's unclear how severe the backstop's injury is, but the Royals should know more before Saturday's contest. If he does have to miss any amount of time, Freddy Fermin would be the next man up as Kansas City's main catcher.

Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Rortvedt will take a seat Friday with lefty Chris Sale on the mound for Atlanta. Alex Jackson will bat ninth and catch for Zack Littell.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Oakland.

Jeffers has yet to make consecutive starts behind the plate this season, and his playing time has slipped lately, as he hasn't made a start at designated hitter since June 1. It's been a rough month so far for the 27-year-old, who has gone 3-for-30 through nine contests. Christian Vazquez will step in behind the plate Friday to catch for Simeon Woods Richardson.

Diaz (finger) is batting fifth and is the designated hitter for Friday's game against the Tigers.

Diaz missed three straight games with a right index finger injury, but he'll be back in action Friday. Considering his injury impacts his throwing and accuracy, Diaz could require a few more games at DH before working behind the dish. The 25-year-old had a six-game hit streak prior to being injured with four homers during that stretch.

Zavala started at catcher and went 0-for-1 with a walk in an extra-inning loss to the White Sox on Thursday.

Making his first appearance of any kind since June 1, Zavala was able to reach base for the first time since May 23 via his one walk. The 30-year-old backstop has seen Cal Raleigh, who eventually replaced him in Thursday's game, draw the overwhelming majority of starts behind the dish, and more recently, Mitch Garver has filled in at catcher on a handful of occasions as well. Zavala's playing time figures to remain sparse, barring injury to one of the two veterans in front of him.

O'Hoppe (groin) is starting at catcher and batting fifth Thursday versus Arizona, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

O'Hoppe had to sit out Wednesday's contest after getting hit in the groin by a foul tip Tuesday, but he is seemingly feeling well enough to catch Griffin Canning in Thursday's series finale. The 24-year-old backstop has been white-hot at the plate recently, going 10-for-23 with a homer, two RBI and five runs scored since the beginning of June.

Raleigh isn't in the Mariners' lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Although Raleigh is currently enjoying a five-game hitting streak, the Mariners will sit him down for Thursday's series finale while Seby Zavala starts behind the plate and bats ninth.

Wong is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Phillies.

The Red Sox will go with Reese McGuire behind the dish in the rubber game of the series. Wong had started each of the previous six contests, with five of those coming at catcher.
