Angels' Matt Thaiss: Back on bench Monday
Thaiss is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.
Thaiss will retreat to the bench after he went 4-for-11 with a home run and a walk while starting in three of the Angels' last four games. Sean Murphy C | ATL
Athletics' Sean Murphy: Another extra-base hit Sunday
Murphy went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and a run in a win over the White Sox on Sunday.
Murphy's fifth-inning two-bagger knocked in Vimael Machin as part of a six-run breakout for the Athletics. The slugging backstop has displayed impressive pop throughout 2022, with Sunday's double serving as his career-best 51st extra-base hit of the season (out of 118 total hits) and helping him to his second two-hit effort in the last three contests.

Trevino was reinstated from the paternity list Monday.
Trevino will return to the team ahead of its two-game series with the Red Sox on Tuesday. The catcher has struggled from the plate recently, going 2-for-25 with five strikeouts over his last nine contests. Trevino remains locked in a timeshare with Kyle Higashioka behind the plate.

Yankees' Ben Rortvedt: Sent back down
Rortvedt was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Sunday's win over the Rays.

Cam Gallagher C | PHI
Orioles' Cam Gallagher: Scooped up by O's
The Orioles claimed Gallagher off waivers from the Padres on Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Reliever Rico Garcia was designated for assignment to clear room on the 40-man roster for Gallagher, who joins his third organization of the season after opening the year with the Royals. Gallagher should be first in line for a promotion to the big leagues if something happens to one of the two backstops on the Orioles' 40-man active roster, Adley Rutschman and Robinson Chirinos.

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Emerging as primary backstop
