The Dodgers have acquired catcher Johnny Monell from the Orioles, a source has told SB Nation. What was provided in return has yet to be revealed.
The 28-year-old Monell has struggled at Triple-A Norfolk this season. He owns a stat line of .209/.280/286. He has earned just eight at-bats in the major leagues during his career.
He has been assigned to Triple-A Albuquerque, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The hand injury to Padres starting catcher Yasmani Grandal might not be as severe as first feared. Initial x-rays on it came back negaive, per the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Grandal, who hurt the hand on a backswing Tuesday night, has been a mess at the plate. He has just two hits in his last 33 at-bats as his average has dipped under .200 for the first time since he started the season 0 for 2.

The Mets have changed their plans for catcher Travis d'Arnaud. It was anticipated that he would come off the 7-day concussion disabled list Wednesday, but he will not.
He has rejoined the team, however, and should be activated soon.

Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco has come back down to Earth recently, but managed to make an impact in a 6-3 loss to the Dodgers Tuesday.
Mesoraco had just one hit in the loss, but made it count. He clubbed a two-run home run in the eighth inning, as the Reds tried to make a comeback. He finished the game, 1 for 4 with two RBI from the home run.
Mesoraco is still hitting .361 in 83 at-bats this season, but is just 3 for 29 over his last eight games.

Yasmani Grandal leaves with hand injury
Padres catcher Yasmani Grandal left Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks in the seventh inning, after being hit on the hand while catching.
Paul Goldschmidt's backswing caught Grandal, though he was awarded first base on catcher's interference. Grandal had to leave the game, though the team did not provide an update on his status by the time the game ended.
