Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Resting for series finale

P.J. Higgins C | CIN
Reds' P.J. Higgins: Sent back to Louisville
The Reds optioned Higgins to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
With backup catcher Jose Trevino (hamstring) returning from the injured list, Higgins was no longer needed as a depth option behind top backstop Tyler Stephenson. Following his May 17 promotion from Louisville, Higgins saw action in just eight games for the Reds and slashed .250/.294/.313 with three RBI and one run across 20 plate appearances.

Jose Trevino C | CIN
Reds' Jose Trevino: Back from IL
The Reds reinstated Trevino (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Following just under a month-long stay on the shelf due to a left hamstring strain, Trevino will rejoin the Reds ahead of their series finale versus Arizona and will start at catcher and bat eighth Sunday. Trevino, who played in three minor-league rehab games prior to being activated, will reprise his usual duties as the No. 2 backstop behind Tyler Stephenson. The Reds optioned fellow catcher P.J. Higgins to Triple-A Louisville to make room on the active roster for Trevino.

Rodolfo Duran C | SD
Padres' Rodolfo Duran: Homers after late entry
Duran hit a solo home run in his only plate appearance during Saturday's 9-3 win against the Orioles.
Freddy Fermin started behind the plate but had to leave after taking a warm-up pitch from Yuki Matsui to the head area in the sixth inning. Duran finished out the contest and took Albert Suarez deep in the eighth. Luis Campusano remains on the IL due to a toe injury, so if Fermin needs to miss additional time, Duran figures to take over as the Padres' primary catcher.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Belts three-run homer
Realmuto went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and a walk in Saturday's win over the Brewers.
Realmuto blasted a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning, after contributing an RBI single that scored Bryson Stott in the fourth. Despite this strong showing, Realmuto has been slumping at the plate of late. He's gone hitless in nine of his last 12 games, slashing .135/.256/.297 in that span.

Brett Sullivan C | COL
Rockies' Brett Sullivan: Pops another homer in loss
Sullivan went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Athletics.
Sullivan has hit four homers this season, all coming since May 26. Over his last nine games, he has gone 8-for-21 (.381) despite filling a backup role. While his bat has improved lately, Sullivan is no real threat to Hunter Goodman's status as the Rockies' starting catcher. On the year, Sullivan is batting .229 with a .679 OPS, 13 RBI, seven runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases over 104 plate appearances.

Luis Campusano C | SD
Padres' Luis Campusano: Still awaiting rehab stint
Campusano (toe) continues to rehab in Arizona but hasn't yet been scheduled for a minor-league rehab assignment, per MLB.com.
Campusano has now been out over a month after fracturing a toe on his left foot in early May. The backstop has been catching pitches and swinging pain-free since late May, but San Diego hasn't yet sent him out on a rehab assignment. Fellow backstop Freddy Fermin exited Saturday's contest against Baltimore after being hit by a warmup pitch near the back of the head, so the only healthy catcher on San Diego's 26-man roster at the moment is Rodolfo Duran.

Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Sitting Saturday
