Nola is not in the lineup Wednesday at Milwaukee.

Nola is 1-for-10 over his past four games and will take a seat for the second straight contest. Victor Caratini receives another start behind the plate for the Friars.

Leon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Leon's run as the Marlins' top catcher is over after Jorge Alfaro (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list earlier this week. Alfaro will pick up his second straight start Wednesday.

Contreras (wrist) is starting Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Contreras took a pitch to the wrist while catching Sunday and was held out of Tuesday's lineup as a result. However, he underwent X-rays that came back negative, and he'll start behind the plate and bat fifth Wednesday.

Gomes isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Reds, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Gomes went 1-for-3 in Tuesday's loss to the Reds and will retreat to the bench for the second time in the last three games. Alex Avila will start behind the dish and bat seventh.

Caratini went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Brewers.

With the score 0-0 in the third inning and runners on the corners against Corbin Burnes, the Padres got aggressive and Caratini did something no San Diego catcher had ever done before in franchise history -- steal home. After Ha-Seong Kim took off for second base, Caratini headed home when the throw from Omar Narvaez went through and he just beat the return toss from Willy Adames. The Padres made life miserable for Narvaez all night by going 6-for-6 on steal attempts, allowing them to rack up offense despite only five hits and zero homers. Caratini's swipe was his second of the season but only the third of his career.

Nido went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's victory over the Rockies.

Nido took Chi Chi Gonzalez deep in the sixth inning to tally his third long ball of the year while giving the Mets the lead for good. The 27-year-old continues to shine while filling in for James McCann behind the plate, making six starts over the last eight games and going 7-for-20 with two home runs during that span. Across 19 games this season, Nido is batting .260/.315/.520.

Contreras is expected to take swings in the cage Tuesday after X-rays on his wrist came back negative, according to manager David Ross, Maddie Lee of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

The catcher is not in the lineup against the Pirates after taking a pitch to the wrist while catching Sunday. However, he does not appear destined to miss prolonged time given Tuesday's positive news. It's unknown whether the backstop could be a pinch-hitting option Tuesday.

However, with the backstop out of the lineup for Tuesday's series opener, it seems fair to reason that his wrist is not 100 percent. It's unclear at this point whether Contreras will be available off the bench Tuesday.

McCann went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.

Making his first career start at first base for the injury-ravaged Mets, McCann made a spectacular defensive play on his first chance in the field, then ruined Austin Gomber's shutout bid in the seventh inning with his second homer of the year. Despite the big all-around performance, the veteran catcher has only a .535 OPS on the season.

Diaz went 1-for-2 with two walks and a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 win over the Mets.

He drove a David Peterson pitch over the left-field fence in the second inning. It's the first homer of the season for Diaz, who has effectively fallen into the short side of a platoon with Dom Nunez behind the plate for Colorado thanks to a woeful .410 OPS.
