The Giants selected Knizner's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Knizner inked a minor-league deal a couple weeks ago and has been added to the big-league roster after going 11-for-30 in eight games with Sacramento. He'll take over backup catcher duties behind Patrick Bailey.

Huff has slashed only .208/.259/.340 as the Giants' backup catcher, which wasn't good enough for him to stick around with the big club, especially since he's known more for his bat than his defense. Andrew Knizner was called up from Triple-A Sacramento and will take over as the team's new No. 2 catcher.

Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Fresh off being named the NL Rookie of the Month for May, Baldwin got hold of a Zac Gallen cutter in the fourth inning and ripped it down the right-field line for his sixth homer of the season. The rookie has been splitting starts behind the plate with Sean Murphy of late, but Baldwin's been the more productive hitter with a .379/.400/.621 slash line, four homers and 10 RBI over his last 20 games.

Contreras is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

Contreras will get a rare day off after going hitless in the first two games of the series. Eric Haase will start at catcher and bat eighth for the Brewers.

Stallings will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Stallings will crack the lineup for just the second time in eight games, with both starts coming in day games after night games. The veteran backstop will likely continue to see infrequent playing time while Hunter Goodman is entrenched as the Rockies' No. 1 catcher.

Hicks is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

The left-handed-hitting Hicks will take a seat with southpaw Kyle Freeland on the bump for Colorado, but the rookie Rule 5 draft pick should have a clearer path to playing time versus righties after the Marlins recently dropped Matt Mervis from the 40-man roster. Hicks -- who started in three of the Marlins' previous four matchups with right-handers -- is slashing .276/.351/.469 with four home runs and 22 RBI across 113 plate appearances on the season.

Goodman went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a double in Tuesday's win over the Marlins.

Goodman caught fire in Miami. His go-ahead, solo blast in the eighth inning Tuesday was his third home run in two games, leading the Rockies to their first series win of 2025. Shockingly, despite his home park being Coors Field, eight of Goodman's 10 home runs this year have come on the road. That's led to an impressive .908 road OPS and a disappointing .682 OPS at home. Goodman is slashing .277/.325/.477 with 23 extra-base hits and 35 RBI through 59 games this season.

Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday in his first game with Single-A Palm Beach.

Rodriguez had been promoted earlier in the day from the rookie-level Florida Complex League, where he had slashed a ridiculous .362/.506/.828 with seven home runs and a 15:16 K:BB over 19 games. At 18, he's one of the youngest players in full-season ball. There are questions as to whether Rodriguez will be able to stick at catcher, but he's become one of the better power-hitting prospects in the low minors, slugging 18 homers in 62 contests.

Stephenson went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

Stephenson got the Reds on the board in the fourth with a two-run homer to right to even up the game. He now has four homers in his last eight games while racking up nine RBI over that span.

The Dodgers designated Robinson for assignment Tuesday.

Just three days after being claimed off waivers from the Angels, Robinson will find himself on the waiver wire once again as the roster casualty necessary to clear 40-man space for Jose Urena. Robinson, 30, is slashing .272/.315/.388 through 112 plate appearances in Triple-A but owns just a .364 OPS in his MLB career.
