  • Blue Jays' Gabriel Moreno: Sitting again Sunday

Moreno is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

The 22-year-old is hitting .421 with four RBI through his first five big-league games, but he'll take a seat Sunday for the second consecutive contest. Alejandro Kirk will move behind the plate in Moreno's place, while Teoscar Hernandez rests his legs as the designated hitter.

  • Cardinals' Andrew Knizner: Takes seat Sunday

Knizner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Knizner has taken over as the Cardinals' No. 1 backstop in the wake of Yadier Molina (knee) landing on the injured list Friday, but the former will give way to Ivan Herrera behind the dish in the series finale in Boston. While starting in both of the first two games of the series, Knizner went 1-for-6 with a double, two walks, two runs and an RBI.

  • Jose Trevino C | CIN

Yankees' Jose Trevino: On bench Sunday

Trevino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Trevino and Kyle Higashioka have alternated starts across the past 11 games, and manager Aaron Boone will continue that trend Sunday. Higashioka will start behind the plate and bat seventh after Trevino went 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch during Saturday's contest.

  • Eric Haase C | SF

Tigers' Eric Haase: Three-run homer in win

Haase went 3-for-5 with a double, a three-run home run and three total runs scored in Saturday's win over Texas.

Haase knocked in Robbie Grossman and Miguel Cabrera on a homer in the fourth. The catcher also came around to score on a Jonathan Schoop single in the sixth. Haase now has back-to-back multi-hit games and has raised his batting average to .212. After struggling through April and May, he is slashing .333/.357/.630 in June.

  • Rays' Francisco Mejia: Perfect night at the plate

Mejia went 4-for-4 with three singles, a double and a run scored in a 7-6 win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Mejia appears to have broken out of his recent slump. The 26-year-old catcher had a four-hit game after hitting a paltry .103 over his last 10 contests. Mejia will need more consistent production at the plate if he hopes to replicate his .260 average over 277 plate appearances from last season.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Three hits plus theft

Contreras went 3-for-5 with a double, a steal, a run and an RBI Saturday against Atlanta.

This was Contreras' third steal of the season, which ties him with Keibert Ruiz for fourth among all catchers -- J.T. Realmuto has eight while Daulton Varsho and Christian Bethancourt have four apiece. Contreras is in the midst of a six-game hitting streak.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Added to Saturday's lineup

Smith was added to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

The 27-year-old was initially slated to get a day off Saturday, but he'll serve as the designated hitter and bat third after Mookie Betts (rib) was scratched from the lineup for a second consecutive game. Smith has slashed .268/.318/.537 with three home runs, two doubles, six RBI and five runs over the last 10 games.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: On bench Saturday

Smith isn't starting Saturday's game against Cleveland, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Smith will get a breather after he went 1-for-12 with a three-run homer and a walk over the last three games. Austin Barnes is starting behind the plate and batting ninth.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Athletics' Sean Murphy: Not starting Saturday

Murphy isn't starting Saturday's game against the Royals.

Murphy started in the last 10 games and slashed .257/.333/.457 with two homers, a double, three runs and three RBI. He'll get a breather while Stephen Vogt starts behind the plate and bats cleanup.

  • Max Stassi C | SF

Angels' Max Stassi: On bench for matinee

Stassi isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Stassi went 2-for-8 with three strikeouts over the last two games and will be out of the starting nine for the second time in the last four matchups. Kurt Suzuki is starting behind the plate and batting seventh.
