  • Padres' Francisco Mejia: Remains out Sunday

Mejia (forearm) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Mejia was forced to leave Saturday's game after sustaining a right forearm bruise after being hit by a pitch. The severity of the injury is not yet known. Austin Hedges will start behind the plate in his place Sunday.

  • Dodgers' Austin Barnes: Day off Sunday

Barnes is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Barnes has scuffled in June with a .419 OPS in 17 games, so he'll head to the bench Sunday. Russell Martin will start behind the plate and bat eighth in the series finale.

  • Curt Casali C | ATL

Reds' Curt Casali: Playing time on rise

Casali will start at catcher and bat ninth Sunday against the Cubs, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Casali will draw a sixth consecutive turn behind the dish and should operate as the Reds' primary backstop for the foreseeable future with Tucker Barnhart (oblique) facing an extended absence. The surge in playing time makes Casali a must-own player in NL-only formats and probably makes him worth grabbing in deeper mixed leagues that start two backstops as well. Casali's .756 OPS on the season places him 18th among all catchers who have received at least 140 plate appearances this season.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Sits Sunday after hot run

Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Jansen will take a seat after starting each of the past four games behind the dish. The backstop is riding a five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 7-for-17 with a pair of home runs, a double and six RBI. That'll be enough for Jansen to maintain the larger portion of the timeshare at catcher with Luke Maile.

  • Brewers' Yasmani Grandal: Receives breather Sunday

Grandal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Grandal had two hits Saturday to end a 2-for-18 slump, but he'll take a maintenance day in the series finale. Manny Pina will start behind the dish and bat seventh Sunday in his stead.

  • Yan Gomes C | CHC

Nationals' Yan Gomes: Day off Sunday

Gomes is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.

Gomes went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a walk Saturday, but he'll head to the bench Sunday for the third time in the last four games. Kurt Suzuki is starting behind the plate and batting seventh in the series finale.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Delivers walk-off homer

Jansen went 1-for-4 with a walkoff two-run homer in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Jansen came to the plate with one out in the ninth inning and came through on a full count for the Blue Jays. The 24-year-old has struggled this season with a .560 OPS, but he's looked better in June with a .246/.328/.404 slash line in 18 games.

  • Padres' Francisco Mejia: Exits after HBP

Mejia was removed from Saturday's game against the Cardinals with a right forearm contusion after being hit by a pitch.

Mejia was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the second inning and remained in to run the bases, but he was removed for a pinch hitter later in the inning as the Friars batted around. The severity of the issue remains unclear, but there's a solid chance Mejia will be out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

  • Rays' Travis d'Arnaud: Hits solo homer

D'Arnaud went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 5-2 victory over the Rangers on Saturday.

The veteran catcher is having a rough year, but he is back above the Mendoza Line after two hits Saturday. Since joining the Rays at the beginning of May, d'Arnaud has been performing a little bit better too, batting .235 with nine extra-base hits in 98 at-bats. Overall, he's hitting .205 with five home runs, 19 RBI and 18 runs in 122 at-bats this year.

  • Indians' Roberto Perez: Not in Saturday's lineup

Perez is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles.

Perez started the last four games behind the plate, but he will be held out Saturday with the Indians playing a day game following a night game. Kevin Plawecki will get the start behind the plate in Perez's place.
