Jansen went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Orioles.

The Jays piled up 17 hits and 12 runs on the night, so even hitting at the bottom of the order provided Jansen with plenty of opportunities to produce. The catcher has had a miserable season at the plate, stumbling to a .532 OPS through 49 games, but he does have two multi-hit performances in his last three starts -- including Thursday's season-high three knocks.

Smith went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Smith has gotten right back to his hot-hitting ways for Oklahoma City since he was sent down June 6, as this was the second straight game he's left the yard in the first inning. His Triple-A slash line is an impressive .285/.398/.557 to go along with 10 homers and 34 RBI, so he's maintaining a strong case that he should be back with the big club at some point, especially considering he fared well at the dish in his brief stint this season with six hits and two homers in 21 at-bats. However, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts seems committed to the rotation of Austin Barnes and Russell Martin for the time being.

Hedges is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rockies.

Hedges is 0-for-7 with four strikeouts over his last two games, so he'll give way to Austin Allen behind the dish for Thursday's series opener in Colorado. Look for the backstop to rejoin the starting nine Friday.

Gomes is not in the lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Gomes is slashing just .174/.208/.217 through six games this month, so he'll give way to Kurt Suzuki behind the dish for the second time in three games.

Garver is not in Thursday's lineup against the Mariners.

The slugging catcher will sit for the fourth time in 10 games since coming off the injured list. He is hitting .296 with one home run and 13 strikeouts over that stretch. Jason Castro will start behind the dish and hit eighth.

Wallach remains in Major League Baseball's concussion protocol and is without a clear timeline to return from the 10-day injured list, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

The Marlins' decision to place Wallach on the 10-day rather than the 7-day injured list back on May 24 hinted that the backstop's concussion wasn't a mild one. It's unclear how much Wallach has progressed -- if at all -- since being shut down, but he won't be in store for a major role upon returning from the IL. Jorge Alfaro remains locked in as the Marlins' clear No. 1 catcher.

Jansen is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Orioles.

Jansen has hit .111/.238/.167 over his last 12 games, dragging his season line down to .170/.259/.252. Luke Maile, who starts Wednesday, isn't a significant threat to cut further into Jansen's playing time, as he owns a similarly awful .173/.225/.267 slash line.

Contreras is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Rockies.

Contreras will take a seat for Wednesday's matinee contest after catching all nine innings during Tuesday's night game. The backstop, who is slashing just .180/.255/.320 with two home runs and a 36.4 percent strikeout rate over his last 15 games, will give way to Victor Caratini behind the dish in this one.

Perez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

He'll be receiving a routine breather for the day game after the night game while Kevin Plawecki checks in behind the dish. Since homering in four straight starts from June 2 through 8, Perez has gone 0-for-6 over his subsequent two appearances.

Barnhart is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Indians, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Barnhart will take a seat for the day game after the night game, allowing Curt Casali to receive a turn behind the dish in the series finale. Through seven games in June, Barnhart has gone 4-for-18 with no home runs, no runs and an RBI.
