Garver is not starting Saturday against the Tigers, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Garver has had the edge in playing time over Bobby Wilson, starting nine of the last 15 games. Wilson will get the call behind the plate Saturday.

Barnhart is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Barnhart will head to the bench as he is slashing .172/.265/.276 with five extra-base hits in 98 plate appearances since the start of July. Curt Casali will start behind the plate and bat seventh against Robbie Ray and the Diamondbacks.

Perez is not in Saturday's lineup versus the Blue Jays, Mike Wilner of BlueJaysTalk reports.

Perez will retreat to the bench after going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI during Friday's contest. In his absence, Jesus Sucre will handle the catching duties and bat ninth.

Maile is not in the lineup against Tampa Bay on Saturday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Maile will receive a breather after going 1-for-3 during Friday's game. Russell Martin will handle the catching duties and bat seventh in the order.

Hedges went 2-for-3 with a home run, a stolen base and a pair of runs scored in Friday's 2-0 win over Philadelphia.

Hedges returned to the lineup with a bang after get getting a scheduled day off Thursday. The 25-year-old is turning in his best offensive season to date, posting a .256/.311/.450 slash line with nine homers over 55 starts. Hedges' status as the Friars' long-term catcher may be in jeopardy following the acquisition of prospect Francisco Mejia at the deadline, but the incumbent starter is doing everything in his power to prove his worth, helping fantasy owners out in the process.

Perez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Blue Jays.

Perez got his first home run of the year off starter Marco Estrada in the third inning. Perez had gone four straight games without registering a hit but still has a healthy .323/.353/.484 slash line since coming over from the Diamondbacks on July 26. The 26-year-old rookie has one home run, two doubles and four RBI in 10 games for his new club.

Leon is not in the lineup for Friday's game at Baltimore, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Leon started the last six games for the Red Sox, but Dan Butler will start behind the plate for the first time since being promoted Aug. 3. Leon could sit out a game Saturday as well with a doubleheader on tap in Baltimore.

Mesoraco is not in the lineup against Miami on Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Mesoraco will take a seat after going 0-for-2 with three walks during Wednesday's game versus the Reds. In his stead, Kevin Plawecki will handle the catching duties and bat eighth.

Diaz went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Giants.

Diaz has been starting less frequently since Francisco Cervelli returned from a concussion -- Thursday's start was just Diaz's third in the Pirates' last nine games -- but he continues to perform when given an opportunity. The 27-year-old is now slashing .287/.333/.455 with eight homers in 202 at-bats this season.

Vazquez (finger) has resumed working out at the Red Sox's spring training facility in Florida, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The extent of Vazquez's activities aren't known, but the backstop isn't expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment until some point in late August or in early September before returning from the 10-day disabled list. Vazquez has been sidelined since July 8 with a broken right pinkie finger that ultimately required surgery.
