  • Giants' Patrick Bailey: Provides only runs in win

Bailey went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Dodgers.

Bailey had the biggest hit of the game when he took Jack Dreyer deep in the seventh inning for the lone scoring play. This was Bailey's first homer of the season, and it comes just less than a week after manager Tony Vitello hinted that the catcher position would become more of a timeshare for the Giants. That hasn't fully materialized yet -- this was Bailey's fourth straight game in the lineup -- but he could still see his usage reduced due to his .155 average and .429 OPS through 63 plate appearances. He's added four RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base across 19 games, though Bailey's defense will often make up for what he lacks as a hitter. To his credit, his plate discipline has improved this year with a 19 percent strikeout rate compared to 29.4 percent last year.

  • Padres' Luis Campusano: Racks up three extra-base hits

Campusano went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Rockies.

Campusano's blast came in the seventh inning, but the Padres weren't able to build off of it. This was his second multi-hit effort of the season, and it was his first performance with an extra-base hit in his last six games. The catcher is batting .333 with a 1.052 OPS, two homers, seven RBI, seven runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases over 39 plate appearances this year, but he continues to function in the backup catcher role behind Freddy Fermin.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Homers in third straight game

Raleigh went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's.

Raleigh has officially heated up after an ice-cold start to the year. The backstop has homered in three straight contests, going 6-for-13 with just two strikeouts in that span. The only downside is that all three long balls were solo shots. Overall, Raleigh is slashing .198/.281/.386 with five home runs, 14 RBI and two stolen bases across 114 plate appearances this season.

  • Diamondbacks' Adrian Del Castillo: Resting with lefty on mound

Del Castillo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Del Castillo picked up two starts at catcher and one at designated hitter over the past three games, but he'll hit the bench Wednesday while the White Sox send lefty Anthony Kay to the hill. With Del Castillo sitting, Jose Fernandez will serve as Arizona's DH and James McCann will get the nod behind the dish.

  • Carson Kelly C | CHC

Cubs' Carson Kelly: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Kelly is not in the Cubs' starting lineup against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Kelly will sit for the second time in three days while Miguel Amaya serves behind home plate and bats eighth while doing the catching for Matthew Boyd. Kelly has gone 15-for-46 (.326) with two home runs, seven RBI, nine runs scored and a 9:10 BB:K since April 1.

  • Padres' Freddy Fermin: Sitting Wednesday

Fermin is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Rockies on Wednesday.

With Fermin opening Wednesday's game on the bench, Luis Campusano will serve behind home plate and bat eighth while catching pitches from Walker Buehler. Fermin has struggled at the plate this season, slashing .194/.333/.278 with two RBI and nine runs scored over 45 plate appearances.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Rangers' Danny Jansen: Resting up Wednesday

Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Jansen will get a routine day off after handling catching duties in the Rangers' previous two contests. Kyle Higashioka will draw the start behind the plate Wednesday.

  • Phillies' Rafael Marchan: Role to increase sans Realmuto

Marchan will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Marchan will get the call behind the plate for the Phillies' first game following top backstop J.T. Realmuto's (back) placement on the injured list. Though the Phillies called up Garrett Stubbs from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to provide another option behind the plate, the playing time at catcher will likely tilt in Marchan's favor while Realmuto is on the shelf. Marchan has gone just 2-for-31 at the dish this season, but he's made one of those hits count by slugging a two-run home run.

  • Phillies' Garrett Stubbs: Call-up official

The Phillies selected Stubbs' contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

He'll join the big club as a replacement for top catcher J.T. Realmuto (back), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. Rafael Marchan will draw the start behind the plate in Wednesday's game against the Cubs and will likely see the larger share of playing time at catcher while Realmuto is out, though Stubbs should be in line for at least a couple starts per week. After failing to win a spot on the Phillies' Opening Day roster, Stubbs shined early on at Triple-A this season, slashing .289/.413/.632 with three home runs and three stolen bases across 46 plate appearances.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Lands on IL with back spasms

The Phillies placed Realmuto on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to back spasms, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Realmuto initially tweaked his back on a play at the plate in Friday's 9-0 loss to Atlanta, then started Saturday but left early after aggravating the injury. He was held out of the lineup for the next two days before returning to action in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Cubs, but his back is apparently still presenting issues for him. The Phillies will shut Realmuto down for at least the next week and a half with the hope that the back problem resolves itself, though the veteran backstop is without an official timeline for a return. Rafael Marchan and Garrett Stubbs will share the catching duties while Realmuto is on the mend.
