  • Dodgers' Austin Barnes: Activated from IL

The Dodgers activated Barnes (toe) from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Barnes fractured his left big toe Sept. 15 after fracturing the same toe in August. However, the fractures occurred in different spots of the toe. With Barnes returning from injury, Hunter Feduccia was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

  • Rockies' Jacob Stallings: Back on bench Thursday

Stallings is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

After going 2-for-6 with a double and walk while starting both of the first two games of the series, Stallings will cede catching duties to Hunter Goodman in the finale. The two backstops seem to be part of a timeshare at the position, with rookie Drew Romo representing a lightly used No. 3 option.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATL

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Out of Texas lineup

Heim is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Oakland.

Heim reached base three times and homered in the first two games of the series, but he'll get a breather for the finale. Carson Kelly will do the catching and bat eighth for the Rangers.

  • Korey Lee C | CHW

White Sox's Korey Lee: Sitting out matinee

Lee is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Lee and Chuckie Robinson have alternated starts at catcher over the team's last 14 contests. It will be Robinson behind the plate as the White Sox attempt to complete a sweep.

  • Korey Lee C | CHW

White Sox's Korey Lee: Goes deep in victory

Lee went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 4-3 win against the Angels.

Lee opened the scoring in the contest with a two-run blast off Jose Suarez in the second inning. Discarding Tuesday's contest during which Lee played only as a late defensive replacement and didn't log a plate appearance, it was the second straight game with a long ball for the backstop. Prior to that, Lee had undergone a stretch of 27 contests without a home run.

  • Padres' Kyle Higashioka: Getting breather Wednesday

Higashioka isn't in the Padres' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Higashioka's single in Tuesday's win broke an 0-for-11 stretch at the plate, and he'll now get a chance to rest while Elias Diaz catches for Dylan Cease.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Getting Wednesday off

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

He will take a seat while he and Christian Vazquez continue to alternate starts behind the plate. Jeffers has gone hitless in 12 at-bats over his last four games, bringing his slash line down to .224/.300/.430 for the season.

  • Nick Fortes C | TB

Marlins' Nick Fortes: Taking Wednesday off

Fortes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Fortes will take a seat after he started at catcher in each of Miami's last three contests while going 2-for-11 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Jhonny Pereda will get a turn behind the plate in Fortes' stead.

  • Angels' Gustavo Campero: Filling in for injured Adams

Campero will start in right field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

He'll occupy right field for the eighth time in nine games, with injuries to Mickey Moniak and Jordyn Adams (knee) paving the way for Campero to pick up at-bats following his Sept. 15 call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake. Moniak has since returned to action, but Adams will miss out on a fifth straight start while he tends to the knee injury. Campero has opened his big-league career by going 8-for-28 (.286 average) with two stolen bases, three RBI and three runs through his first eight contests.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Resting up Wednesday

Rutschman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

He'll hit the bench after starting in each of the past five games, with four coming at catcher. James McCann will fill in for Rutschman behind the dish Wednesday.
