McCann will start at catcher and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

With top backstop Shea Langeliers getting a breather for the series finale, McCann will step in behind the dish Sunday, catching for starting pitcher JP Sears. McCann has appeared in four games since the All-Star break, going 2-for-13 with seven strikeouts.

Higashioka is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Higashioka went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in Saturday's contest but will take a seat for the series finale in Miami. Luis Campusano is starting behind the plate and batting ninth Sunday.

Langeliers went 4-for-4 in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Langeliers accomplished the rare feat of an all-singles, four-hit performance in a game where his team still managed to score only one run. It was the 15th multi-hit effort of the season for Langeliers, who had been mired in a 2-for-24 skid across the previous seven games. The backstop's .217 average and .278 on-base percentage this season both have plenty of room for improvement, but Langeliers' .445 slugging percentage and .723 OPS are both career highs.

Ruiz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Ruiz has gone 1-for-11 with a walk and two RBI in the past three games, and he'll head to the bench for Sunday's series finale. Riley Adams will bat eighth and catch for lefty MacKenzie Gore.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

O'Hoppe started the previous 10 games and will receive a rest Sunday after he posted a .486 OPS and 30.4 percent strikeout rate during that stretch. Matt Thaiss will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Jack Kochanowicz.

Amaya went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 3-1 win over the White Sox.

Amaya is now riding a modest two-game hitting streak, but it's been a struggle overall for the catcher. He has just a .588 OPS through 83 games, which is a 100-point drop from his figure last season as a rookie. The 25-year-old was a fairly well-regarded prospect on his way up to the majors, but that has yet to translate to significant offensive success. Amaya should continue to see regular playing time, however, as journeyman Christian Bethancourt is the only other catching depth currently on the MLB roster.

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Twins.

Naylor's sixth-inning blast gave the Guardians just enough breathing room for the win. The catcher has gone just 6-for-28 (.214) over his last 10 games, though he has five extra-base hits and eight RBI in that span while sharing the catching duties with Austin Hedges. For the year, Naylor is slashing .203/.264/.363 with nine homers, 33 RBI, 33 runs scored, four stolen bases, 10 doubles and two triples over 88 contests.

Perez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in an 8-3 win against St. Louis on Saturday.

Perez's seventh-inning, two-run blast gave the Royals a 6-2 lead. It was the catcher's second homer thus far in August, and he's batting .303 with five RBI through nine contests on the month. Perez is up to 21 long balls on the campaign, tied for second most among MLB backstops behind Cal Raleigh (24).
