Belt (hamstring) underwent an MRI on Sunday that revealed inflammation, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Belt sat out Sunday against the Twins after exiting Saturday's loss with left hamstring tightness, but the issue doesn't appear to be a significant concern. Manager John Schneider said after Sunday's matchup that Belt remains day-to-day for now. He'll have at least one day to rest before Tuesday's series opener in Baltimore.

Stanton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Josh Donaldson will handle designated hitter duties in the series finale while Stanton takes a seat in what appears to be little more than a maintenance day. Since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list June 1, Stanton has gone 3-for-20 (.150 average) with a solo home run in his first six games back with the Yankees.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that a timeline for Alvarez's (oblique) return from the 10-day injured list is "still up in the air a little bit," Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports. "It will take a week at least to get a feel for how long it's going to be," Brown said, referring to the length of Alvarez's absence.

Oblique injuries are notorious for carrying volatile recovery timelines, so it's no surprise that Brown already seems to be discounting the possibility of Alvarez returning from the IL when first eligible June 19. On a positive note, Alvarez's injury has been described as right oblique discomfort rather than a strain, though it's possible that his diagnosis could change if he's sent in for further tests in the coming days. While Alvarez is out, the red-hot Mauricio Dubon could gain traction in an everyday role in left field, which would leave Corey Julks and Chas McCormick to jockey for playing time at designated hitter.

Jimenez is still experiencing soreness in his left calf and will sit out a third consecutive game. While the slugger rests up, Clint Frazier will handle right field and hit leadoff in the series finale with Miami.

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Mariners.

Ohtani stretched his hitting streak to seven games, and he's gone 12-for-28 (.429) with three homers and eight RBI in that span. The 28-year-old superstar's long ball Saturday was the Angels' lone run-scoring play. The surge at the plate has lifted Ohtani's slash line to .281/.355/.570 with 18 homers, 46 RBI, 39 runs scored and nine stolen bases through 64 contests.

Turner went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Yankees.

Turner posted his second straight multi-hit game and his fourth such effort through nine contests in June. The 38-year-old also logged his third steal of the campaign, matching his total from each of the last two seasons. He continues to be a solid part of the heart of the Red Sox's order with a .264/.345/.404 slash line, seven home runs, 26 RBI, 33 runs scored and 12 doubles through 62 games.

The oft-injured veteran managed to make it more than two months into the season without incident and has been a productive part of the Toronto lineup, slashing .263/.378/.434 through 48 games. Whether or not his latest injury is serious enough to require a trip to the injured list is uncertain. If it does, Alejandro Kirk could spend more time at designated hitter, especially with Danny Jansen (groin) closing in on a return.

Rooker remains on the bench Saturday against Milwaukee, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Rooker's .263/.363/.505 season slash line makes him one of the few bright spots on the Oakland roster, so to see him stuck on the bench for the second consecutive game suggests he may be battling an undisclosed minor injury. It's also possible that the 15-50 Athletics aren't particularly concerned with putting their best lineup on the field and see no need to give everyday at-bats to a journeyman despite his hot start. Whatever the reason for Rooker's absence, it will be JJ Bleday who serves as the designated hitter Saturday.

Manager Pedro Grifol said Friday that Jimenez should be able to avoid the injured list but will miss at least four or five days. So far, that remains true. Gavin Sheets will remain the right fielder Saturday, with Jake Burger again starting at designated hitter.
