Stanton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Miami.

After making his first 78 starts as a designated hitter, Stanton finally saw action in the outfield earlier this weekend when the Yankees didn't have the DH available in an NL park. Though he checked out fine physically following his starts in left field Friday and Saturday, Stanton will be extended a rest in the series finale. The newly acquired Joey Gallo will get the nod in left Sunday.

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Saturday's 12-11 win over the White Sox.

The pair of extra-base hits were Ramirez's first since July 10. Despite the power outage, Ramirez still looks fairly secure as an everyday outfielder, even after the addition of Myles Straw at the trade deadline. The duo of Oscar Mercado and Daniel Johnson is more likely to lose work in the outfield with Straw joining the mix.

Choi went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Red Sox.

He took Nathan Eovaldi deep in the first inning, Choi's eighth homer of the year and fourth in his last seven games. The 30-year-old is slashing .310/.375/.793 over that stretch, and it's probably no coincidence that his power surge began when Nelson Cruz slid into the Tampa Bay batting order directly behind him.

Buxton (hand) has resumed lightly swinging the bat with some tee work, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Buxton has been on the injured list with a broken hand since June 22, but he had been limited to lower-body activity and conditioning work recently. His ability to grip a bat again represents a significant step in his recovery, and a better idea of his return timetable could be revealed once he ramps up his activity level. The 27-year-old could require a rehab stint before he's cleared to return, so he could still be several weeks away from rejoining the Twins.

Jimenez (groin) isn't starting Saturday's game against Cleveland.

Jimenez experienced right groin tightness in Wednesday's loss to the Royals and was removed as a precautionary measure. The injury will force him out of the lineup for a third straight game Saturday. Gavin Sheets will serve as the designated hitter while Adam Engel enters the starting nine in center field.

Stanton started in left field in Friday's win over Miami. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout at the plate.

The Yankees had teased Stanton returning to the field for several weeks, and that scenario finally played out with the team playing in a National League park. The slugger made four putouts before he was replaced as part of a double switch in the sixth inning. While his return to the outfield went without a hitch, the slugger's hitting woes continued. Since July 9, he is batting just .167 with 25 strikeouts over 60 at-bats.

Ohtani bat second and serve as the designated hitter Saturday against Oakland despite a sore thumb which will keep him from pitching for a few days.

The Angels didn't expect the injury to prevent Ohtani from hitting, but it's still good to see it confirmed. The issue doesn't seem to be particularly serious one, as he's in the mix to start as soon as Monday.

Reyes went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in Friday's 6-4 loss to the White Sox.

Reyes got Cleveland on the board early with a two-run single in the first inning before launching a solo blast in the eighth. He's gone 6-for-7 with three homers and five RBI over the last two games, giving him 20 long balls through 238 plate appearances. The 26-year-old slugger is sporting a .942 with 32 extra-base hits and 50 RBI.

Ohtani won't start Sunday's game against Oakland due to a sore thumb, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Ohtani should still be available as the designated hitter in the Angels' weekend series against Oakland, but his next start as a pitcher will be pushed back after a ball hit the thumb on his throwing hand in the dugout recently. Manager Joe Maddon downplayed the severity of the issue and said the right-hander could still start Monday's game. Jaime Barria will start Saturday's contest, while Reid Detmers will make his major-league debut Sunday.

Choi went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs in a win over the Yankees on Thursday.

Choi helped pile on the runs late, slugging his seventh homer of the season with Brandon Lowe aboard in the sixth to extend the Rays' lead to 12-0 at the time. The veteran is closing out July on a heater, as he's now posted a .321/.406/.714 slash line with two doubles, three home runs and nine RBI over his last eight games.
