  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

    Athletics' Mark Canha: Swats homer

Canha went 2-for-5 with a solo home run during Wednesday's win over the Astros in Game 3 of the ALDS.

Canha hit a solo homer in the second inning off Jose Urquidy. The 31-year-old broke out of his postseason slump, as he'd recorded only one hit in the playoffs prior to Wednesday. The veteran slashed .246/.387/.408 during the regular season.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Cranks two homers

Stanton went 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Rays in Game 2 of the ALDS.

Stanton cranked a solo home run in the second inning and a three-run homer in the fourth inning off Tyler Glasnow. His second home run of the night was measured at a staggering 458 feet and put the Yankees within one. The slugger will look to continue his impressive postseason in Game 3 of the ALDS.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Grand slam in Game 1 win

Stanton went 1-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam Monday in a win over the Rays in Game 1 of the ALDS.

The Rays were able to hang around for most of the night against Gerrit Cole and company, but Stanton ended any hope of a comeback in the top of the ninth with his grand slam, turning a 5-3 game into a 9-3 game. Stanton once again missed time due to injury and he struggled to close out the regular season. However, he is still one of the top power threats in the game and that power is a luxury in the five hole behind DJ LeMahieu, Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks and Luke Voit in the batting order.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Foot injury resurfaces

Jimenez left Thursday's game against the Athletics with right foot discomfort.

Jimenez was removed from the game after blasting a double in the third inning, and it appears as though he aggravated his foot injury that forced him to miss the first two games of the AL Wild Card Series. Should the White Sox win Thursday's decisive Game 3, Jimenez could perhaps return for the AL Division Series.

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Leaves Game 3 with apparent injury

Jimenez exited Game 3 of the AL Wild Card Series against the Athletics on Thursday with an apparent injury, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Jimenez returned to Chicago's lineup as the designated hitter for the decisive Game 3 after missing a week with a sprained foot. He doubled in the top of the third inning, but he was visited by trainers at second base shortly after and exited the game. The nature and severity of his injury aren't clear.

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Returns as designated hitter

Jimenez (foot) will bat cleanup as the designated hitter for Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against Oakland on Thursday.

Jimenez will play for the first time in a week after dealing with a sprained foot. He didn't appear in either of the first two games of the series despite reportedly being available off the bench, but he's ready to go for the deciding contest. He hit .296/.332/.559 in 55 games this season, so his presence should be a big boost to Chicago's lineup.

  • Brent Rooker DH | ATH

Twins' Brent Rooker: Feeling good after surgery

Rooker has checked out well following surgery on his fractured forearm, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Rooker was struck by a pitch in the forearm back in mid-September, just seven games into his debut season. He's expected to be ready to go by next year's spring training.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Remains on bench

Jimenez (foot) remains sidelined for Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Series against Oakland on Wednesday.

Jimenez remains out while dealing with the mild right foot sprain that cost him the final three games of the regular season. He didn't appear off the bench in Game 1 despite reportedly being available, but he wasn't needed as the White Sox won 4-1. Leury Garcia remains the starter in left field in his absence.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Benched again in Game 2

Choi is out of the lineup Wednesday for Game 2 of the Rays' wild-card series with the Blue Jays, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The hamstring injury that sidelined Choi for the final two weeks of the regular season no longer looks to be a major concern, as he was included on the Rays' postseason roster and came off the bench in Tuesday's 3-1 win to make an appearance as a pinch-hitter. His absence from the lineup Wednesday is likely a result of the Blue Jays bringing a lefty (Hyun-Jin Ryu) to the hill.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Not yet fully healthy

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said that Buxton was excluded from the lineup for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Astros because the outfielder "is not felling 100 percent," Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Buxton missed the Twins' final two regular-season contests after experiencing mild concussion symptoms, but he was cleared to start in center field Tuesday in the team's postseason opener. Though he played all nine innings in Minnesota's 4-1 loss and went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts and a stolen base, Buxton may have gotten banged up somewhere along the way. While Baldelli noted that he couldn't elaborate on the nature of Buxton's condition, the skipper indicated the 26-year-old may still be available off the bench. Alex Kirilloff will pick up his first career start Wednesday in Buxton's stead.
