  • Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Dealing with neck issue

Vogelbach is not in Sunday's lineup due to a sore neck, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

The extent of the injury isn't known, though Vogelbach did exit Saturday's contest early. Tom Murphy is serving as the team's designated hitter Sunday in Vogelbach's absence.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Not part of Sunday's lineup

Dickerson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Braves, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Dickerson started in left field the last two times the Giants faced right-handed starters, but the team is facing a left-hander Sunday for the third time in four games, and Joey Rickard has gotten the start in left in all three of those instances.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Held out against lefty

Belt is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Braves, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

The Giants will take on left-hander Dallas Keuchel on Sunday, so as has been the case all month, Belt will not be in the lineup with a southpaw on the mound for the opponent. Austin Slater will get the start at first base in Belt's place.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Third straight start

Carpenter is starting at third base Sunday for the third straight day.

Starts have been few and far between for Carpenter in September, but he has gotten a chance to see regular at-bats this weekend with Kolten Wong (hamstring) sidelined. Carpenter will play third base Sunday and hit sixth in the Cardinals' batting order.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Out of Sunday's lineup

Cabrera (knee) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Cabrera was scratched from Saturday's lineup with knee soreness and remains out Sunday. It remains unclear if Cabrera will return to assume his regular role prior to the close of the season, though it's safe to assume the team will take a cautious approach. Christin Stewart will handle the designated hitter duties in his place and bat fifth.

  • Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Not part of Sunday's lineup

Vogelbach is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Vogelbach is hitting just .178 this month and .163 against lefties this season, so it doesn't come as much surprise he is being held out Sunday against Orioles starter John Means. Tom Murphy will serve as the Mariners' designated hitter.

  • Nick Solak DH | SD

Rangers' Nick Solak: Swats fifth homer

Solak went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 12-3 loss to the Athletics.

Solak hit his third homer in his last nine games, an eighth-inning blast off reliever Ryan Buchter. The third baseman has started well in the majors, posting a .306/.409/.520 slash line with five homers, 16 RBI and 19 runs scored across 98 at-bats.

  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

Athletics' Mark Canha: Scores thrice Saturday

Canha went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, three runs scored and a walk in Saturday's 12-3 win over the Rangers.

Canha was right in the middle of the Athletics' early rallies, scoring on a Ramon Laureano double in the first inning and a Sheldon Neuse single in the second. Canha topped it off with a solo shot in the fifth off Rangers reliever Shawn Kelley. Canha has homered in consecutive games, giving him 26 on the year to go with 59 RBI and 79 runs scored in 121 games.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Hitless in return

Turner (ankle) went 0-for-2 in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Rockies.

Turner was initially expected to get three at-bats Saturday, but the Dodgers shuffled their personnel to start the fourth inning and Turner's night was done. Manager Dave Roberts will likely take things carefully with the 34-year-old third baseman to avoid aggravating the injury. Turner is slashing .290/.370/.512 over 541 plate appearances this year.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: Goes deep twice

Miller went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs Saturday against the Indians.

Miller went deep in the fourth and ninth innings to give him eight home runs on the season. He's struggled to get regular at-bats for much of the campaign, though he has now started three consecutive games and collected at least one hit in each. For the season, Miller is hitting just .233/.313/.481 across 71 games.
