Buxton (hand) is set to undergo an MRI after his X-rays came back negative, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Buxton suffered a hand injury during Thursday's Triple-A action on a swing, and he left the game shortly after. Although he's currently being considered day-to-day, a stint on the disabled list hasn't been ruled out. More information should become available following the MRI.

Miller is not in the lineup Friday against the Pirates.

Miller has moved into a fairly regular role for the Brewers, starting six of the last 10 games at second base, though he has just a pair of hits in his last 18 at-bats so that situation could be about to change. Jonathan Villar starts at second base Friday.

Canha went 2-for-4 with two RBI from a run-scoring single and also scored once in a win over the Astros on Thursday.

Canha's clutch single to left in the eighth brought home Matt Olson and Matt Chapman, snapping a 4-4 tie and completing a furious six-run rally for the Athletics. The outfielder's productive day was an extension of what is a month-long hot streak, and he's now hitting .306 over his 40 plate appearances in July.

Buxton exited Triple-A Rochester's game Thursday after sustaining a hand injury, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.

Buxton left the game after fouling off a trio of pitches during the fourth inning. The severity of the injury is unclear at this point, and the 24-year-old will undergo X-rays and additional testing over the next few days.

Pederson led off and went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and an RBI in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Padres.

Pederson had been situated on the bench over the last two games with the Dodgers facing a pair of southpaws. He returned to his usual role as the club's leadoff hitter against a righty Thursday, snapping an 0-for-17 slump with a two-hit performance in the process. The Angels are throwing two righties in their upcoming three-game set with the Dodgers starting Friday, so Pederson should receive a couple more starts before the All-Star break.

Turner (groin/hamstring) felt his left adductor tighten up in his lone plate appearance Thursday, and he will be forced to miss Friday's contest against the Angels, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.

Manager Dave Roberts said that Turner tweaked the muscle Wednesday -- which could explain his absence from the starting lineup Thursday -- and the injury flared up again while he ran out a groundout in a pinch-hit appearance against the Padres. The severity of the injury is unclear at the moment, but it will cost the 33-year-old at least one more game. The Dodgers may play it safe with Turner and hold him out for the remaining three games leading up to the All-Star break.

Harper went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Mets.

Harper took southpaw Jerry Blevins deep in the seventh inning for his 23rd home run of the season. It marked only his sixth home run against left-handed pitchers this season, though he has managed a higher batting average and on-base percentage when he does not have the platoon advantage. Harper now has three home runs but has also struck out a troubling 17 times in 41 at-bats since the start of July.

Ohtani isn't in Thursday's starting lineup against the Mariners.

Ohtani will take a seat for his second straight game, although he did pinch-hit Wednesday. The 23-year-old is slashing .279/.359/.515 with seven homers and 22 RBI as a batter this season.

Carpenter went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks in a loss to the White Sox on Wednesday.

Carpenter was essentially the lone bright spot in the shutout loss, logging the Cardinals' lone extra-base hit of the night. The veteran infielder has continued to be a thorn in the side of opposing pitching to open July, as evidenced by a .432 on-base percentage that's comprised of 10 hits and nine walks over his first 10 games (nine starts) of the month. Six of those hits have been of the extra-base variety, leading to an impressive .571 slugging percentage over that span as well.

Choi went 2-for-4 with a ground-rule double in a win over the Tigers on Wednesday.

Choi drew the start at designated hitter in his first taste of action with the Rays, notching a seventh-inning ground-rule double in the process. The 27-year-old has slashed .265/.306/.529 in 36 plate appearances with the Brewers and Tampa this season, and he could potentially remain with the big-league club for an extended period if his production is up to par.
