Cabrera (biceps), who has been splitting his time between Michigan and Florida since going down for the season in mid-June, said he's optimistic that he'll be ready for the start of spring training, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Cabrera has primarily been doing rehab work in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He said the process has been "a little slow," but he remains optimistic that his injury won't force him to miss time in 2019. The 35-year-old had an .843 OPS in 38 games before going down with a torn bicep, and while he's not as formidable a hitter as he once was, Cabrera could still have a little bit left in his bat if he comes back healthy. The veteran certainly figures to come at a steep discount in fantasy drafts next spring.

McCutchen (foot) will man right field and bat atop the order in San Diego on Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

McCutchen will not miss any additional time after leaving Sunday's game against Milwaukee due to a foot contusion. With just a two-game set on tap in San Diego, he will get a breather during the club's scheduled off day Wednesday. Through 103 games this year, McCutchen has slashed .253/.348/.405 with 10 home runs, 43 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Vogelbach was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Vogelbach only played in two games after being called up for the second half of the season, and will head back to the Triple-A level as James Paxton (back) comes off the DL. Look for Vogelbach to return to Seattle once rosters expand in September, though he could wind up coming back sooner if there's an injury or two.

Beer was called up to High-A Buies Creek on Monday, Sam Dykstra of MiLB reports.

Beer only spent a month with Low-A Quad Cities after earning a quick promotion from short-season Tri City following just 11 games with the team. Across 28 outings with Quad Cities, he slashed .342/.430/.486 with three home runs, 16 RBI and one stolen base.

Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Cubs.

Ozuna took Kyle Hendricks deep in the first inning to record his 12th home run of the season. He has now homered in consecutive games, only the second time he's achieved that this season. Even with the recent boost in power, Ozuna is slugging a disappointing .390 through 395 at-bats this season, and his .260 mark across the last 30 days is hardly a reason for optimism.

McCutchen was lifted from Sunday's tilt against Milwaukee due to a foot contusion, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic Bay Area reports.

McCutchen suffered the injury after fouling multiple balls off his foot, although he was likely removed as a precaution. The issue shouldn't force him to remain out for long, and barring a more negative diagnosis, he'll be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Martinez went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a walk Sunday in the 3-0 win over Minnesota.

Martinez accounted for all three of Boston's runs in the series finale, as he doubled home a pair in the second inning, followed by an RBI single in the fourth. He's put together a modest six-game hitting streak, but he's homered three times and driven in eight runs over that stretch. Martinez continues to impress in 2018, slashing .326/.390/.643 with a 1.033 OPS through 100 games.

The Padres optioned Reyes to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Reyes had appeared in just one of the Padres' last five games and had failed to seize an everyday role at any point since being recalled from Triple-A on July 10, so he'll be sent back to the minors in order to pick up regular at-bats. The Padres activated pitcher Jordan Lyles (forearm) from the 10-day disabled list in a corresponding move.

Ohtani is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Ohtani will take a seat with Mariners lefty Marco Gonzalez on the mound, but that doesn't mean the rookie will be idle after four consecutive turns as the Angels' designated hitter. Prior to the contest, he stretched out his throwing distance off flat ground to 110 feet as he continues to rehab a Grade 2 UCL sprain of his right elbow. Ohtani could soon be ready for mound work and progress toward pitching for the Angels at some point later in the second half.

Canha is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rockies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With no designated hitter available in Coors Field, Canha will head to the bench for the second day in a row as the Athletics shoehorn Khris Davis into left field. There should be room in the lineup for Canha on Monday, when the Athletics kick off their homestand with a three-game set against the Blue Jays.
