Ohtani struck out 11 Twins over 6.1 innings Sunday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks. He did not factor into the decision.

He was utterly dominant for most of the start but was forced to turn the game over to Cam Bedrosian after reaching 103 pitches (69 strikes) midway through the seventh inning. Bedrosian promptly allowed an inherited runner to score, making it a 1-1 tie after seven frames. Four of Ohtani's six MLB starts have been quality, and he has now struck out 11-plus twice -- he fell one strikeout shy of tying his career high. He will start next weekend at home against the Rays.

Reyes' contract was purchased from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic San Diego reports.

His mammoth raw power has been on full display lately in the Pacific Coast League, as he is hitting .543 with seven home runs, eight walks and seven strikeouts over his last 35 at-bats. Reyes' power explosion at Triple-A is extra impressive given that he is age-appropriate for the level (turns 23 in July), this is his first taste of Triple-A pitching, and he is striking out less than 20 percent of the time (19.3 percent). Reyes will presumably displace Travis Jankowski from the go-to lineup while Wil Myers (oblique) is out, but it remains to be seen how the Padres will make room for everyone once Myers returns. Given his high-end raw power and contact skills, Reyes is a worthwhile add in most formats, as he could be one of the prospects from this year's class that actually swings mixed leagues.

Brantley went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run, three RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Royals.

Brantley hit his fifth home run of the season in the seventh inning off Brian Flynn. It was his second home run in three games, but his first against a left-handed pitcher this season. While he is batting a strong .336/.368/.569 in 116 at-bats this season, he has struggled against left-handed pitching, batting .250/.289/.278 in 36 at-bats entering Sunday's contest. He isn't likely to sit against them, however, given the Indians' precarious depth in the outfield and his otherwise strong start to the season.

Winker is out of the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers.

Winker will be the odd man out Sunday in the Reds' four-man outfield carousel, with the fact that the Dodgers are starting a left-handed pitcher in Rich Hill likely factoring heavily into interim manager Jim Riggleman's lineup decision. The 24-year-old is hitting .190/.346/.238 (75 wRC+) against southpaws this season.

Turner (wrist) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.

According to manager Dave Roberts, the plan is for Turner to make his long-anticipated season debut Tuesday against the Marlins. The third baseman slashed .322/.415/.530 with 21 home runs and 90 RBI last season, so his insertion back into the Dodgers' middling lineup will certainly be a welcome addition.

Buxton is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

According to Berardino, manager Paul Molitor relayed that Buxton is feeling fine physically, so the outfielder's absence Sunday is likely just for maintenance purposes. The 24-year-old overcame a bout with migraines in addition to a hairline fracture in his left big toe to return from a month-long absence and start the first three games of the series with the Angels, during which he went 1-for-10 with a double and five strikeouts. Max Kepler will cover center field in Buxton's stead in the series finale.

Carpenter is not in the lineup Sunday against the Padres.

Carpenter will be withheld from the starting lineup for the third consecutive game as the Cardinals close out their four-game series against the Padres. The veteran infielder made a pinch-hit appearance Saturday, so his extended absence does not seem to be injury-related. Manager Mike Matheny may just be looking to give the struggling hitter (.145 average) some time off to reset. Jedd Gyorko draws the start at third base Sunday.

Canha went 2-for-5 with a two-run single in an extra-innings loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

The 29-year-old continued to deliver against Yankees pitching, with Saturday's production making him 3-for-8 with a double, two RBI, two walks and two runs in the first two games of the series. The veteran is parlaying consistent playing time into the best production since his rookie 2015 season, as his line sits at a solid .284/.344/.511 over 96 plate appearances. Moreover, his five home runs match the total he generated last season over 187 trips to the plate, while the two runs he drove in Saturday vaulted him over his 2017 total of 14 by one RBI.

Miller went 2-for-5 with a triple, a solo home run and two runs during a win over the Orioles in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Miller squared up both times he hit safely, especially on his 433-foot shot to right center in the fourth that served as his second homer of May. After a slow start, the 28-year-old is starting to show signs of life at the plate, as he's now hit safely in three straight and six of his last eight games overall.

Carpenter is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.

Carpenter also hit the bench Friday with left-hander Eric Lauer on the mound for San Diego, but righty Tyson Ross is pitching Saturday, so it's unlikely to be a matchup decision. The Cardinals' veteran infielder has yet to find any consistency this season and is 3-for-25 with 11 strikeouts in the month of May. Hopefully a couple days out of the lineup can help the 32-year-old get back on track.
