Stanton is absent from the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Red Sox.

Stanton will surely be back out there for the nightcap, but he'll take a seat for the afternoon tilt. Aaron Judge is getting a start in the designated hitter spot and Oswaldo Cabrera will roam right field for the Bronx Bombers.

Vientos went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday in a 7-1 win against the Diamondbacks.

Vientos took Arizona ace Zac Gallen deep for a two-run shot in the sixth inning, increasing New York's lead to 6-0. It was his second long ball through eight games in September and his fifth across 49 contests overall this season. During his time so far with the Mets, Vientos has yet to fully unlock the power he displayed in mashing 40 long balls across 162 games in the minors over the past two campaigns.

Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 6-2 win against the Athletics.

Alvarez broke a scoreless tie in the third inning with a three-run shot to right field off Paul Blackburn. The long ball was his fourth over his past eight games, a span in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with 11 RBI, seven runs and a 7:6 BB:K. Alvarez is up to 27 home runs on the season, tied with Kyle Tucker for the team lead.

Turner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Turner started the previous 20 games but will step out of the lineup Wednesday after he posted a .253/.345/.400 slash line with three homers, 15 RBI and 12 runs during that stretch. Masataka Yoshida will serve as the designated hitter while Wilyer Abreu starts in left field.

Choi (foot/rib) resumed his rehab assignment at Triple-A El Paso on Friday after a two-day shutdown and has gone 2-for-13 with three walks against four strikeouts while playing in games in four of the past five days.

Choi was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 14 with a left rib cage strain and was cleared to resume a rehab assignment Sept. 5, only to suffer what Padres manager Bob Melvin said what was a fractured ankle in his first game with El Paso, per Annie Heilbrunn of The San Diego Union-Tribune. Given the nature of the injury, Choi was presumed to be shut down for the season, but he was cleared to play two days later for El Paso, and his fractured ankle has since been reclassified as a right Lisfranc foot injury, according to MLB.com. Choi has made three starts at designated hitter and one at first base since resuming his rehab assignment, and once activated from the IL, he'll likely share work at both spots with Garrett Cooper while the Padres are without Jake Cronenworth (wrist) for the foreseeable future.

Pederson is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

He'll take a seat with Cleveland starting southpaw Logan Allen. Mitch Haniger, Austin Slater and Luis Matos are in the outfield for the Giants.

Ohtani (oblique) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Seattle, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Ohtani has now missed 10 straight starts with right oblique discomfort. The Angels are off Thursday before beginning a homestand Friday. If Ohtani isn't able to play by that point, perhaps the team will consider shutting him down. The two-way superstar is dealing with a torn UCL in his right elbow in addition to the oblique issue.

Buxton was given a cortisone injection in his injured right knee Sunday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Buxton was pulled off a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul early last week due to a flareup of the patella tendinitis in his knee. Simply resting wasn't doing the trick, so the decision was made to give him a cortisone injection in hopes that it will speed along the healing process. The Twins remain hopeful that Buxton will be able to get into some rehab games and return before the end of the regular season, although there's no timetable at this point for either of those things.

Blackmon is not in the Rockies' lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.

Blackmon will be out of the lineup for the first time since last Wednesday. Hunter Goodman is starting in right field while Elehuris Montero starts at designated hitter.

Ohtani (oblique) isn't in the Angels' lineup Tuesday against the Mariners, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Ohtani was slated to return to the Angels' lineup Monday, but Tuesday will mark his ninth game missed due to tightness in his right oblique. He continues to be listed as day-to-day, but an IL stint could be in the cards for Ohtani if his condition doesn't improve soon. Matt Thaiss will serve as the Angels' designated hitter and bat sixth Tuesday.
