Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Hits bench in series opener
Buxton is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.
Buxton is presumably getting a maintenance day in the series opener after he served as the Twins' designated hitter in each of the team's last six games. Alex Kirilloff will handle those duties Monday, but Buxton should be back in the lineup Tuesday against Astros right-hander Brandon Bielak. The Twins have yet to decide on when Buxton will be ready to pick up work in center field, as he's made all 47 of his starts to date as a DH.

Christopher Morel 1B | MIA
Cubs' Christopher Morel: Getting day off
Morel is absent from the lineup for Monday's game versus the Rays.
It's a day off for Morel after he had started each of the previous 17 contests. Morel has finally started to slow down a bit in recent days, going 1-for-14 with five strikeouts across his last four games. Edwin Rios will be the designated hitter Monday in place of Morel.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Red Sox's Justin Turner: Goes deep in loss
Turner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Arizona.
Turner launched his sixth homer in the eighth inning to bring Boston within two. Since returning from a knee injury, Turner has hit .167 (4-for-24) over six games.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Productive in return
Jimenez went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI, two walks and a run scored Sunday against the Tigers.
Jimenez returned from a three-week absence caused by an appendectomy and hit second in the lineup. His lone hit came on a pop-up in no-man's land between the shortstop and left fielder, though it drove in two. Jimenez started in right field, which allowed Jake Burger to remain the designated hitter while Gavin Sheets hit the bench against a lefty. Moving forward, Jimenez is likely to also see time at designated hitter.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Bookends scoring Sunday
Alvarez went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 10-1 win over the Athletics.
Alvarez opened and closed the scoring in the same way, with near mirror-image solo shots in the first and ninth innings. He'd gone 0-for-9 with six walks over his last four games since a multi-homer effort versus the Brewers last Monday. Alvarez is up to 14 long balls, 48 RBI, 33 runs scored and a .291/.402/.612 slash line through 46 contests after Sunday's strong display of power.

Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Goes deep Sunday
Blackmon went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Sunday's 11-10 win over the Mets.
Blackmon went through a 17-game homer drought for much of May, but he's swatted two long balls over his last three contests. He's riding a nine-game hitting streak, batting .343 (12-for-35) with seven extra-base hits in that span. The veteran is up to a .287/.369/.466 slash line with five homers, 23 RBI, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles and two triples through 48 contests, and he remains in a leadoff role versus right-handed pitchers.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Dodgers' J.D. Martinez: Homers, extends hit streak
Martinez went 2-for-5 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-10 loss to Tampa Bay.
Martinez has now logged a hit in 12 straight games, going 18-for-53 with five homers in that span. The 35-year-old veteran has had an incredible month of May, batting .313 with six homers. Martinez boosted his slash line to .276/.315/.586 with eight homers and 33 RBI through 165 plate appearances this season.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mets' Daniel Vogelbach: On bench again Sunday
Vogelbach is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Vogelbach finds himself on the bench for a second straight game after he served as the Mets' designated hitter in each of the prior three contests, going 1-for-10 with a walk and a run scored during that stretch. Though the lefty-hitting Vogelbach will remain on the bench versus left-handed pitching, he looks like he'll be part of a timeshare at DH with Mark Vientos against righties for the time being.
-
Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Brewers' Jesse Winker: Scratched with neck discomfort
Winker was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against San Francisco with neck discomfort, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Darin Ruf was a late addition to the lineup in place of Winker, who can be viewed as day-to-day. Even if the injury proves to be minor and Winker is back in the lineup for the start of the Brewers' six-game week Tuesday in Toronto, he's given fantasy managers little reason to justify activating him. He's batting just .204 and has yet to hit a home run or steal a base across 127 plate appearances on the season.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Could start rehab assignment soon
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Stanton (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
Stanton was able to take on-field batting practice against a pitching machine Friday, and the veteran slugger continues to make progress from the hamstring strain that has sidelined him since the middle of April. Assuming Stanton gets the green light to begin the rehab assignment Tuesday, Boone said that the 33-year-old might be cleared to return from the 10-day injured list ahead of next weekend's series with the Dodgers.
