Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Tigers.

Jimenez and Gavin Sheets went back-to-back with solo homers in the fourth inning, but those were the only two runs Chicago managed in the loss. The long ball extended Jimenez's modest hitting streak to six games, during which he's gone 8-for-24 (.333) with a pair of homers and six RBI. Jimenez has missed much of the season due to injuries, but he's hit 15 homers -- his most since his rookie 2019 campaign -- over 77 games.

Pederson will sit Saturday against Arizona.

Pederson's only off days against right-handers thus far this season have been due to injury, so it's possible his absence Saturday against Merrill Kelly indicates some sort of physical issue. On the other hand, it's also possible the Giants simply want to spread the playing time around at the end of a disappointing season. Whatever the reason, it will be LaMonte Wade who starts in left field Saturday.

Turner isn't starting Saturday against the Cardinals.

Turner went 5-for-18 with a run, a walk and three strikeouts over the last five games and will get a day off Saturday. Max Muncy is starting at third base and batting fifth.

Winker will sit against lefty Kris Bubic and the Royals on Saturday.

Winker had more than a platoon role for much of the year, but he's been on the bench against the last eight lefties the Mariners have faced. He actually has reverse splits this season, posting a 126 wRC+ against lefties and a 97 wRC+ against righties, though those numbers sit at 83 and 136, respectively, for his career. Sam Haggerty will get the start in left field.

Ramirez will sit Saturday against the Blue Jays, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Ramirez hits the bench for the second time in three games despite the fact that he scored three runs in Friday's 10-6 win. His .765 OPS on the season remains the best of his four-year career, though he owns a .467 OPS over his last eight contests.

Vogelbach remains on the bench Saturday against Oakland, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Vogelbach continues to sit against every lefty the Mets face, a trend which will continue here against Ken Waldichuk. Mark Vientos will again serve as the designated hitter.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored Friday against the Blue Jays.

Ramirez benefitted from a big game by Randy Arozarena and scored multiple runs in a game for the first time since July 3. Ramirez has struggled across 18 games in September, as he's hitting only .194 with five runs scored and six RBI across 18 games.

Martinez isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Yankees, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Martinez is getting a rare day off after he went just 1-for-10 with a walk and four strikeouts over the last three games. Bobby Dalbec will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh.

Ohtani (14-8) gave up two earned runs on three hits and six walks while striking out seven over five-plus innings to earn the win in a 4-2 victory over the Twins on Friday.

Ohtani's stuff looked crisp, and he racked up seven strikeouts on 12 swinging strikes en route to his 14th win the season. The major blemish on his line comes from the six free passes that he issued. Ohtani had not previously walked more than four batters in a game all season. The control problems could possibly be attributed to heavy rain that affected the playing field all night. Ohtani also appeared to have caught Gary Sanchez looking on a 3-2 pitch in the sixth, but home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt didn't ring the batter up. Ohtani will carry his excellent ERA of 2.47 into his next start, which is expected to come against the Rangers.

Vogelbach will be on the bench Friday against the Athletics, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Vogelbach hasn't started a single game against a southpaw since his move to New York, and that won't change here against Cole Irvin. Righty Mark Vientos will serve as the designated hitter.
