The Pirates claimed Collins off waivers from the Blue Jays and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

Collins joins his third organization after the White Sox previously shipped him to Toronto shortly before Opening Day. With Danny Jansen and Alejandro Kirk ahead of him in the pecking order at catcher in Toronto, Collins wasn't able to carve out consistent playing time, as he saw action in 26 games with the big club while slashing .194/.266/.417 in 79 plate appearances. Though Collins will report to Triple-A as he joins his new organization, the Pirates could give him a look at the big-league level before long. Neither of the two catchers on the 28-man active roster -- Jason Delay and Tyler Heineman -- profile as long-term solutions at the position.

Martinez (back) is starting Wednesday against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Martinez was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to back tightness but will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth a day later. Over his last four games, he's gone 6-for-17 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBI.

Ford went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

Ford slugged one of the Angels' three long balls on the night off Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez. Since getting a call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Aug. 25, Ford is getting on base at a .357 clip while leaving the yard three times. He'll start at first base and will bat sixth in Wednesday's series finale and looks to have a hold on an everyday role for the time being.

Pederson isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Pederson will take a seat for a third consecutive game since left-hander Clayton Kershaw is starting for the Dodgers. Luis Gonzalez is starting in left field and batting ninth.

Ozuna went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Tuesday's 10-9 win over the Athletics.

Ozuna has now produced hits while starting each of Atlanta's last four games, going a collective 6-for-13 with a double and a home run. He'll be in the lineup in left field and as Atlanta's No. 8 hitter for the series finale Wednesday. At this point, Ozuna appears to be ahead of both Robbie Grossman and Eddie Rosario for an everyday spot in the corner outfield.

Stanton (foot) isn't starting the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Twins, Max Goodman of SI.com reports.

Stanton was removed from Monday's game against Minnesota after fouling a ball off the top of his foot/ankle, and Aaron Judge will serve as the designated hitter during Wednesday's matinee. However, manager Aaron Boone said prior to the doubleheader that it's possible that Stanton will be available for the second game of the twin bill, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Carpenter (foot) underwent X-rays on Wednesday that showed healing, but he hasn't yet been cleared to resume baseball activities, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Carpenter has been sidelined with a broken foot for just under a month, but he didn't require surgery to address the issue. Although he's improving, his foot isn't yet healed to the point where he's able to resume baseball activities. The 36-year-old is slated to undergo another X-ray in 10-to-14 days, but he's running out of time to return during the regular season.

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Ramirez has 51 RBI on the season, a new career high. He has hit particularly well since returning from the injured list Aug. 16, maintaining a .321 average with 16 RBI and nine runs scored across 78 at-bats and 18 games. For the season, Ramirez has a 136 wRC+ and .350 wOBA across 344 plate appearances.

Vientos was scratched from Triple-A Syracuse's lineup Tuesday due to a headache, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Rumors of a call-up began to surface after Vientos was scratched from Tuesday's lineup, but he just experienced a headache during batting practice. The 21-year-old is one of New York's top prospects and has a .282/.359/.523 slash line with 23 home runs and 73 RBI at Triple-A this year, but the organization has yet to promote him for his first taste of the big leagues.

Managaer Alex Cora said Martinez (back) is expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale in Tampa Bay, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

The veteran slugger was scratched from Tuesday's starting nine due to back tightness, but he's expected to rejoin the lineup after missing only one game. Martinez is in the midst of a modest four-game hit streak, during which he is 6-for-17 with a home run, a double, two walks, two RBI and three runs scored.
