Torrens went 1-for-4 with a triple in a loss to the Angels on Friday.
Torrens reached safely for the third time in the last four games with his second triple of the season, which was one of the few offensive bright spots for the Mariners in the disappointing loss. Torrens is wrapping up the regular season in fine fashion at the plate, as he's hit .354 (23-for-65) with three doubles, Friday's three-bagger, a home run, eight RBI, two walks and eight runs across his last 22 games.

Giants' Darin Ruf: Slugs solo homer
Ruf went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday in a 3-0 win over the Padres.
The veteran got San Francisco off to a quick start, going deep to left field with one out in the first inning. The long ball extended his season marks to 16 homers and 43 RBI, both of which are career highs. Since returning from the injured list Sept. 30, Ruf has gone 3-for-8 with a pair of extra-base hits and two RBI.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Doubles twice in loss
Buxton went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Friday's 11-6 loss to Kansas City.
Buxton doubled and scored in both the fourth and sixth innings Friday. Over the last 10 games, the 27-year-old outfielder has gone 15-for-35 (.429) with nine extra-base hits and 13 runs scored. He boosted his season slash line to .305/.359/.637 with 47 runs scored and 39 extra-base hits through 245 plate appearances.

Dickerson (foot) isn't starting Friday's game against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Dickerson was hit by a pitch on his foot Tuesday and will be out of the starting nine for a third straight game. It's not clear whether he'll be available off the bench, but Darin Ruf will start in left field and bat second.

Brantley will sit Friday against Oakland, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Brantley hasn't taken the field since Sept. 11 after injuring his knee, but he's played the last two games as a designated hitter. He'll get a full day off Friday, with Chas McCormick starting in that spot. Per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, Brantley will test his knee Friday and could play in the outfielder over the weekend.
