  • Trevor May RP | ATH

Athletics' Trevor May: Converts third save

May walked two and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Rays.

May got a little help when Randy Arozarena was caught stealing for the second out, and he set down Jose Siri on three strikes to finish the save. This was a decent bounce-back effort for May, who allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning in his appearance Sunday versus the Brewers. Prior to that messy outing, he'd posted a 5.2-inning scoreless streak. The veteran reliever is up to three saves with a 6.61 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, 13:15 K:BB and two blown saves over 16.1 innings this year.

  • Hogan Harris RP | ATH

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Strong work Tuesday

Harris (2-0) allowed a run on four hits and struck out two over seven innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Rays.

Harris was deployed behind opener Shintaro Fujinami, who pitched a scoreless first inning. Despite the bulk-relief assignment, Harris put in an excellent performance, throwing 63 of 84 pitches for strikes. He became the pitcher of record when Oakland pulled ahead in the eighth inning and Trevor May converted the save in a 2-1 game. This was the longest outing of Harris' career, and it was also one of his best, though the lack of strikeouts is a little concerning. He has a 4.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB over 22.1 innings through five outings this season. Harris may continue to work behind an opener in his next appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for a home game versus the Phillies this weekend.

  • Michael King SP | SD

Yankees' Michael King: Notches fourth save

King picked up the save Tuesday against the Mets, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

King sealed a 7-6 victory, setting the Mets down in order in the ninth inning after Clay Holmes pitched the eighth. It's King's first save since May 15. He improved to 4-for-6 in save chances with a 2.19 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 41:12 K:BB across 37 innings this season. King should continue to pitch in high-leverage spots for the Yankees, though Holmes is still likely the preferred ninth-inning option.

  • Liam Hendriks RP | MIN

White Sox's Liam Hendriks: Will receive PRP injection soon

Hendriks (elbow) received a cortisone shot Sunday and will get a PRP injection in the coming days, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Hendriks had to get both shots cleared with his oncologist first. The right-hander was placed on the injured list by the White Sox on Sunday with elbow inflammation, and while his MRI revealed no structural damage, there's no set timetable for when the closer will be able to return to the mound for Chicago. It's likely Hendriks will be shut down from throwing while he recovers from the injections, however, so it appears he won't be back on the bump for the White Sox before the end of June at the earliest.

  • Glenn Otto RP | HOU

Rangers' Glenn Otto: Beginning rehab assignment

Otto (lat) is set to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Round Rock.

It could be a lengthy rehab stint for Otto, who has been out all season after injuring his right lat toward the end of spring training. The 27-year-old posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 107:62 K:BB over 135.2 innings (27 starts) for the Rangers in 2022.

  • Hogan Harris RP | ATH

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Set for bulk role

Harris will serve as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Shintaro Fujinami in Tuesday's game versus the Rays, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Harris will follow Fujinami for the second time this month after he allowed two runs on five hits while striking out five batters over five innings June 2 in Miami. The 26-year-old owns a 3.00 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with a 7.2 K/9 over 15 innings in his last three outings, and he'll look to continue his productive run as the Athletics attempt to extend their six-game win streak Tuesday.

  • Athletics' Shintaro Fujinami: Operating as opener

Fujinami will operate as an opener for the Athletics on Tuesday versus the Rays, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Fujinami will get the ball first Tuesday ahead of Hogan Harris, who's expected to be the primary pitcher for Oakland's second contest of its series with Tampa Bay. Fujinami has rattled off three straight scoreless appearances out of the bullpen, allowing one run while walking five batters and striking two over three innings. He'll look to keep up his recent success as the Athletics attempt to extend their six-game win streak.

  • Adam Cimber RP | LAA

Blue Jays' Adam Cimber: Placed on paternity list

The Blue Jays placed Cimber on the paternity list Tuesday.

Cimber is allowed to be away from the team for three days while he spends time with his family. Bowden Francis was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to replace Cimber in Toronto's bullpen.

  • Bowden Francis RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Bowden Francis: Recalled from Buffalo

Toronto recalled Francis from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Francis will return to the Blue Jays' bullpen ahead of Tuesday night's series opener in Baltimore. The 27-year-old right-hander tossed 2.2 innings of one-run ball earlier this month against the Twins. It was his lone appearance so far this season at the MLB level.

  • Cody Bradford RP | TEX

    Rangers' Cody Bradford: Promotion official

The Rangers recalled Bradford from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Bradford will start for the Rangers on Tuesday against the Angels, marking the 25-year-old lefty's third start in the majors this season. Bradford holds a 7.20 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through 10 innings with Texas and just threw eight innings in a minor-league game Friday, so he likely will be on a relatively low pitch count Tuesday. Owen White was also recalled to provide multiple innings out of the bullpen, and Yerry Rodriguez and Cole Ragans were both optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in corresponding moves.
