Taylor is scheduled to undergo surgery Wednesday to repair a herniated disc in his lower back, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Taylor was placed on the IL in late May due to left shoulder impingement syndrome and suffered this back injury while ramping up his throwing progression. There is no longer a timetable for his return to the Royals' bullpen.

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander announced Tuesday that Murfee needs season-ending UCL surgery, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Murfee has battled elbow problems for much of the season and can now be ruled out until sometime in 2024, with the possibility he misses the campaign altogether if he's forced to undergo Tommy John surgery in the coming weeks. This is a big blow for the Mariners, as the 29-year-old reliever boasts a 2.70 ERA with 92 strikeouts in 83.1 innings since he debuted last season.

Staumont suffered a setback this week in his recovery from a neck strain, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Staumont has been sent for a fresh round of tests to determine the severity of the setback. He was placed on the injured list in early June and might not be ready to return to the Royals' bullpen before the All-Star break.

Detroit placed Vest on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right lower leg strain.

Vest suffered the injury in Monday's series opener against the Rangers and will be sidelined through the All-Star break. He leaves behind a 2.73 ERA and 32:9 K:BB through 29.2 innings of work this season with the Tigers.

Misiewicz was called up from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Misiewicz will join Detroit's major-league roster after the team claimed him off waivers from Arizona on June 18. The left-hander had struggled to a 5.63 ERA and 1.75 WHIP with six strikeouts over eight innings in seven appearances with the Diamondbacks before being designated for assignment June 12, but he'll look to turn it around with the Tigers.

Garcia (knee) is expected to avoid the injured list, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Garcia hasn't pitched since experiencing right knee discomfort during a relief appearance Saturday versus the Athletics, but he should be available again out of the Toronto bullpen within the next couple of days.

Rodriguez (shoulder) will make at least one more rehab appearance before being activated from the injured list, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Rodriguez struggled in his first two rehab outings at Triple-A Worcester before striking out three of the four total batters he faced there Sunday in a scoreless frame. He's been sidelined since the beginning of June due to left shoulder inflammation.

Schreiber (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Schreiber can't return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break, but he should be ready around the time he's first eligible if all continues to go well with his throwing progression. He's been sidelined since mid-May because of a right teres major strain.

Pacheco underwent Tommy John surgery, Baseball America reports.

It seemed like things were trending in this direction, as he suffered from elbow inflammation in spring training and was then placed on Detroit's 60-day injured list with an elbow strain in late March after getting claimed off waivers from St. Louis. Pacheco could return around midseason in 2024.

Minnesota recalled Ortega from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Ortega will return to the Twins' bullpen ahead of Tuesday night's game in Atlanta as Brock Stewart (elbow) heads to the injured list. Ortega, 26, got lit up in his previous major-league stint and figures to operate in a low-leverage role.
